Bathrooms

Blue Bathroom, Concisely

We’re very close to finishing the upstairs bathroom now, probably within the next couple of days. In the meantime, I came up with a little something I hope you’ll like.

I read a lot of magazines, as I’m sure many of you do, and I especially love it when a room is broken down into its elements. I thought I’d try my hand at it, and I came up with the following:

Blue Bathroom, Concisely

I really had fun making it, so I think I’d like to do at least a couple more for other rooms in the house as we finish them.

Coming soon: the finished project! ;)

Oooo…cool! Just like a page out of Domino. :) Help me out—I can’t get a handle on White Grape—is there any green in it, or is it a soft yellow, or maybe an off-white?

More of these as you finish your lovely rooms please! (Like the light in your living room…)

    The font is Cantabile.

The paint is a pale yellow/green. It’s sort of like the Crayola crayon “spring green” but a little less vibrant.

I looked for the medicine cabinet, and it’s not on the IKEA website! It’s “Aspudden”, but they only have other versions of it.

You are so clever! I love this.

We have an OP bungalow with a similar bathroom size/layout, but fortunately our fixtures were almond instead of turquoise…

That is so clever and useful. I’d love to do it for some of my rooms, but it would take me forever and a day to do all the cut-outs.

Blue Toilet (We’re just lucky) = Best bit in the whole thing! I always look forward to seeing what else you’re doing in your house. It gives me the incentive to start on mine.

Blue Toilet – We’re just lucky is too funny! I feel your pain. In our house we lucked out with three small bathrooms. The fixtures (shower/toilet/sink) in one is the same blue, the second is mint green. The third, whih has the only tub and double sinks is pink. Lovely!

Your upstairs bathroom is along the lines of my downstairs bathroom…about 2 months ago I saw that shower curtain on BB&B’s site and had to have it but I got there the background wasn’t as white as i had thought it would be …I bought it and returned it – ended up with a little vertical stripe number from Tar-jay. I have an oval mirror too but it hangs from a creme ribbon..I’ll have to take pics for comparison! :D

I am really enjoying your blog, and after going back to look at your last place am wondering when you will set up you design consulting service? (This is not idle flattery.)
I think you would look upon the recently remodeled bathroom in my first home with considerable envy. Since the toilet and tub were the lovely blue that you are lucky enough to own today, the former homeowners searched for and found a pedestal sink to match. Then they finished the tub surround and floor in 4×4 baby pink tile, covered the lower 2/3rds of the other walls in white beadboard (thank god) and then finished off the top third of the wall and ceiling in floral wallpaper. Hmmm…Pink loves turquoise!

I’m particularly thrilled that I too have sourced that elusive find…the blue toilet…in my new house! Thanks for the tips on how to make it *somewhat* less horrifying!

Who makes your tv console in your living room? The brown/white one we can see in the insta-gram of you & val as “twinsies.”
We are on the hunt for a good affordable one, but it’s so hard to find. I’d love it if you could recommend one or even do a round up of affordable options for us!
