The new table you found is so far superior to the West Elm Parsons table. There is no contest. Do I just enjoy the details more? A plain table with plain legs vs. a table with the furniture version of an actual personality (and not an overly imposing one)? Reupholster those chairs for sure, but the scheme looks a lot better than where you were going.

After reading Jules' comment, I headed up to Jubilee Furniture (when the store's not open, I'm at a desk at Outreach Community Ministries' offices in Wheaton - the social sevice organization whose programs and services Jubilee Furniture's proceeds help fund)to take another look at the table Nicole purchased. The "X" legs aren't an issue when it comes to sitting at the table, however, due to an apron that supports the table top, you can't cross your legs when your chair is pulled all the way under the table (unless I have freaky fat legs and that's the problem! :-)

Additionally, I hunted all over the table and chairs looking for the Henredon stamp and couldn't find one. However, the set was donated with a matching buffet and Henredon was stamped on the inside of the buffet drawers (but it seems funny that the table isn't also marked - but I swear it was a matched set! :-).

Nicole it was wonderful meeting you (and Genie and Sarah)! Thanks so much for stopping in the store!

Take care - Susan (jubilee furniture general manager)

You've just reminded me how I loathe my dining room chair. I should actually do something about it. Good luck with your pretty new table! :)
