I have that drill! The pathetic one! It really isn’t good for much, and if you’re drilling through anything other than a pound cake you’re out of luck.

I love my 16V craftsman cordless – I highly recommend it.
It is much more powerful than a corded drill my husband had before we met.

Yes, I meant to get a corded drill with the extra handle! I’ve been working all day, filling orders for the shop… I can’t wait to get back to the store to get the proper tool!

I look at your blog frequently, but have never commented. I love all that your share with us, it feels like a conversation with girlfriends over coffee. I’m a longtime power tool user that worked at a lumber yard (building materials retailer that isn’t a big box) in college and one thing I have to add here is: get more amps for more power in your drilling! I have a good cordless, but for true power you have to go corded. Maybe not necessary for your needs, but talk about feeling STRONG… my corded driver/drill (and you probably want a driver/drill because a plain drill doesn’t have a clutch and using it as a screwdriver will harm the motor) has an extra handle on the side so you don’t break your wrist if it seizes up. GRRRRRR!

May I suggest a Ridgid? Hubby and I just bought one and we LOVE it BIG time….has amazing power, quick charge and a lifetime warranty.

When you get a more powerful drill getting one with variable speeds will make life SO much easier.

We have a nice heavy-duty cordless Black & Decker drill that we got for Christmas one year. It's held up well, and I like it. It came with all the drill bits and screwdriver bits we could need, and it's light enough that I can use it properly. ^_^ I thought you might be interested in entering my giveaway, since you're always designing and rearranging your home. The attachment you see on my little Ryobi drill cuts holes, but that drill isn’t powerful enough. I get just a little ways in and then it just STOPS.
