Me My Life

Oh, the Shame

While in New York, I did something I thought I’d never do. I bought a pair of Crocs.

Changing out of Crocs (!)

I didn’t wear them during the show, but I had them on at all other times. Comfy.

Brandon made fun of me mercilessly.

We place entirely too much emphasis on looks! I’d rather have something affordable, comfortable, and practical. I guess I’m old enough now to not care what people think. And honestly, if you’re on your feet for a long time, Crocs are about the most comfortable shoes you can wear.

    Love your blog!

Don’t be ashamed of the Crocs…I think everyone secretly owns a pair…they are really comfortable! But, yes, very stupid looking. :)

Looking forward to your business tips, as I aspire to own my own in the near future.

I think it depends on the style of Crocs you have. I have Crocs, some more stylish than the others and they are easy to keep clean. PLUS you can RECYCLE them at solesunited.com. How cool is that! I adore my black Mary Jane Crocs. Comfiest shoes ever!

Weren’t your cute yellow shoes from Target? You can revisit your shopping priorities, start with the comfort of your feet. If you want style, and you need comfort, you know what you have to do. Your feet are not a merely decorative appendage like earlobes or hair, and you have to take care of them so they take care of you. Give them what they deserve. Sorry about the crocs, but hey, now you have gardening clogs for your backyard renovations.

I bought a pair of Crocs while on vacation in early 2007. I swore I would only wear them on vacation. Then I lived in them all summer – but only when I was in the East Bay. I don’t think people in San Francisco have come to accept the power of Crocs quite yet.

You meant to say that San Francisco has managed to successfully repel the infestation of Crocs. (I’m not in or from SF, so this may be lacking in truth or pertinent factors).

Oh, I have a pair too. I wear them to garden and I bring them camping. They have their place! It’s just not at the mall, or downtown, or….

Let it be known Crocs do have different styles other than the clogs. I think my Alice crocs look fine in any mall, downtown, etc. And the Malindi’s you bought Nicole are so cute! More durable and cleaner than most flats out there I bet! The more stylish crocs, I believe, are better than some of the nasty summer shoes folks are wearing out there even because you can disinfect the crud out of them. lol

Oh, gardening! That’s a good use for them. I’ve been wearing my rain boots, and I probably look insane.

Really, I won’t be wearing them. They’re cute for Crocs, but they’re not that cute as shoes in general! I think mine look like a big version of a child’s shoe (to me, at least).

It really depends on the style of your look. the colour is amazing if you wear them with a pair of jeans I think they should look perfect! :-D
    Have a great day

I love my Alice’s. People are always shocked when I tell them they’re made by Crocs. I’ve worn them everywhere and they are just as comfortable as the ugly ones. So super score! I can’t really see which ones you bought but I don’t think the Alice comes in pink, just red, teal, and black.

    :-o Crocs?? LOL

We don’t have all the different types down here so I really can’t judge. I do adore the cat picture though, those all crack me up.

at least you got “cute” crocs – I have the regular, hideous clog version, but (thankfully) my boyfriend doesn’t let me wear them out of the house. BEST slippers (/house shoes) I’ve ever had.

I have crocs that I wear at work (white clogs). We work in a cleanroom, and for some reason they make special crocs for use in cleanrooms. They are actually really comfortable, and help when you’re on your feet on a hard floor all day, but they make us look even more ridiculous than the blue cleanroom jumpsuits do. They keep us from slipping on the floor when there’s water around, though, so they are worth the stupid look.
I’d consider getting some crocks as house shoes, or gardening shoes (not that I’ll have a garden until next year) but the normal clogs are just so stupid looking. They make everyone look like they have huge duck feet. The Alice ones are adorable, though, so I might even wear a pair like that out of the house. ^_~

You live in Oak Park, they didn’t issue you your crocs, your overinduldged teen and your jogging stroller? Joking. My husband and I moved to Oak Park three years ago and jokes they should issue crocs when you get your parking pass…

Crocs are gross but don’t feel bad, the style you purchased and the “alice” style aren’t that bad. I don’t understand how ppl can justify wearing the clogs though, especially now that I know there are more “o.k.” styles. Did you know they are a hazard when getting on escalators? Apparently they get stuck and a lot of kids have been injured, especially in Japan. So watch out.

I bought a pair of crocs when my podiatrist told me I should ALWAYS be wearing shoes. I picked them because I figured if I was gonna get stuck wearing shoes all the time, at least I could pop ‘em in the dishwasher and clean them. Often.
