Me Pregnancy

Big Baby

Our baby might be a biggin’. My doctor went over the ultrasound results with me, and said that she’s bigger than 77% of other babies at this point.

21.5 Weeks Pregnant
twenty one and a half weeks pregnant

I’m at the stage that the pregnancy books are referring to as “comfortably pregnant” or “cutely pregnant”. Awesome! Can’t wait for that uncomfortable, uncute part to start. Especially since I apparently have an amazon inside of me.

LOL – you read my mind with the “comfortable” bit! I’m dreading the third trimester if all the books consider the second tri to be all comfy and cozy.

I too am carrying a biggin’ who likes to kick me “below the belt”. Nice.

You look so great – love that dress!!

psshhaw, they can’t really tell you know, i’ve heard so many ‘omgosh, my doc says this baby weighs 400 pounds’ stories and then post c-section (cuz baby was too big, see), the kid is this wee 5 pounds, 2 ounces. :)

don’t stress out about it too much. docs can be so wrong on those things. i was told my first was well over 8 lbs, he came out 6 lbs 11 oz.

I am at 33 weeks today and losing that cuteness, methinks. I’m more of a waddling, lycra wearing pregnant.

I had a 10 lb 12 oz baby… no GD, just a huge baby. My advice is to take the c-section if they offer it. I am only 5′ 3″ so they pretty much told me that was my only option. There are plusses though. My hubby wasn’t nearly as afraid of handling our son as he thought since he wasn’t as tiny as other newborns. And developmentally he’s advanced, he started walking at 8.5 months.

Hang in there! And you are totally in the cute pregnant stage!

Too funny. You look great. I have had three boys and everytime they told me I had a big baby…then I had a 7 pounder and couldn’t figure out why my ponch got sooo huge. It’s worth it though, and it’s all good in the end. I have blogged about some great baby stuff like babylegs, g diapers etc that you might like. Take care of yourself, you’re makin a miralce!

    Over 11 pounds! Eek!

Lindsay, the giant ampersand was from Pottery Barn.

Oh, and no big secret on the dresses… lots of ’em (including that yellow one) are from Target.

  • Catherine
    December 6, 2008 at 5:05 pm

perhaps a ‘glamazon’ ;) speaking of which, I could so see your bringing home your sweet bundle of love in a cream, hand knitted cap with scalloped edges, with some ‘yo-yo’s like your necklace in hot pinks, light pinks, and greens appliqued on. It would be so sweet, but chic, but traditional, but modern; you know, like you.

I wore that dress in brown all 9 months! Target is a god send!
The cuteness peaks at 7 months, enjoy and photograph it! By 9 months you are supposed to be miserable…that gives you the motivation to push the baby out! I too was pronounced to have a biggie. Lucky for me he showed up two weeks early at a reasonable 8lb 5oz. Things have a way of working out!

Jenn, we store all of ours in Billy bookcases (from IKEA) with doors.

You look great – I love the necklace!

And don’t let the doc worry you, ultrasound estimates are notoriously unreliable. My docs never even ventured an opinion on weight. So long as she’s growing, things are good!

I had a 9 pound boy and at 8 months, people couldn’t tell I was pregnant. It made me so sad. I had to stick my belly way way out and waddle. But once I showed, it was amazing how nice everyone got. I would have liked more than 4 weeks of that though! Your house looks lovely and already almost baby-friendly. My son is crawling and about to walk. I have to move things daily as he keeps finding what I thought I moved out of his range. I love the pink ornaments too.
