Style: January ’09

A new month, a new style post. I have a lot of fun making these, so I hope you enjoy them!

Style: January '09

I adore the huge print on this chainlink-print dress. Absolutely adore it. I often like to add colored tights but here I think I’d stick with gray. I’d also wear my inexpensive gray shoes from Old Navy (which I highly recommend as they are cute and comfortable). So things are a bit monochromatic now, yes? I’d throw on a colorful cardigan sweater (just about any color would work nicely), and grab a bag in yet another color (I’m coveting the Get-Up-and-Go Bag these days). Feminine gold and pearl earrings and simple stacking bracelets (Banana Republic makes the ones shown, but I also really like the set from LOOKAjewelry).

And now, here’s a maternity version. I have this jersey dress, and I think it’s actually quite flattering. Super comfortable and a bit casual, it’s a really nice dress to carry one through to spring.

Those Old Navy shoes are soooo stinkin’ cute! I went straight over to check them out and *surprise* they’re sold out in my size in every color! Ugh. Love the style post for this month! I’m feeling the gray!

I like how the only thing that changes is the dress! I guess just because one is pregnant they don’t have to give up style!

I’d be rocking the first with burgundy, though.

I love you style posts – how you manage to make clothes I can actually afford look dreamy. Keep em coming, especially the maternity looks. I think we’re due about similar times – I’m the end of April. I’ve been living in the gray and fuschia dresses from Target. Have you seen them? They’re awfully cute

I love the colour of that cardigan — sadly I have this whole small breast large hip combo that makes cardigans look really bizarre on me.
I can’t wait to see more pics of your baby bump ^_^ I’m 37w1d today!

I am so in love with your style posts — and that bag from Anthropologie! (Okay, I love almost everything from that store). Anyone know of a cheaper look-a-like?

    Happy new year, Nicole!

My sister just flew out to the States on holiday yesterday – I think I’ll be asking her to bring back a pair of those Old Navy shoes. Gorgeous.

Is it wrong to want the jersey dress if you aren’t pregnant? It looks too cute, I love the ribbon.

My maternity wardrobe for my recent pregnancy was nearly entirely from the Gap & Old Navy. (I work in a casual office.) The Gap’s stuff is great and affordable.

Nicole, I need to hire you as my personal stylist! I dress like such a loser, it’s so sad. I want to wear THIS outfit tomorrow instead of the skinny jeans/boots/black sweater combo I wind up wearing every single day. SIGH.

I have the opposite problem as pearllinds; they have every color in my size so I’m having a hard time deciding which to get. I think everytime you make one of these posts I end up buying something. you should be getting a cut of those sales.
