New Glasses

Hooray for new specs! Our insurance covers a lot of the cost, so I took advantage of that before the year ended. I found them online too (at a discount), in case anyone is inclined to check them out.

Also, here I am at 25 and a half weeks pregnant. Getting bigger, but still feeling all right.

    Thanks, everyone.

And Manda, that’s so nice to hear. Some of those comments got pretty nasty, and I tried to just not let them bother me.

Oh, and that dress is from J.Crew. It’s on clearance, and I had a discount code, so I picked it up for only $30.

Nicole – That was a really nice comment you posted at D16. As I said there, both you and Anna are truly the standard-setters of internet etiquette. I’ve witnessed you both defuse unpleasant remarks on your respective blogs, and I admire you for that. As I also mentioned at D16, my taste, age and personal circumstances are very different from yours and Anna’s, yet I get great pleasure checking in with your blogs every day. Thanks to you both for providing your readers with such a smart, interesting, and inspirational look into your private lives.

& you look stunning, even at 25 weeks.

I’m getting a new pair of glasses this year, I’m determined. My last pair is great, but I need options. (I get mine cheap at http://www.eyeglassfactoryoutlet.com/ I was skeptical at first, but they turned out to be great glasses even at the price.)

Loving your blog & its very inspiring. Thanks!

I love your glasses. They look fab!!! I need to order some new glasses and was going to go the online route, but I am worried when they come in, they won’t look right. Any suggestions?

I’m also a graphic designer and your photoshop mock-ups have inspired me to do the same so I don’t make any more impulse purchases while I’m making my own apartment “lovely”.

Great website – thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Cute glasses! They look great on you. I just ordered new ones myself before the end of the year, although I don’t look good in thicker plastic frames, I got blue metal Fendi ones. And you look great for 25 weeks. I just had a baby in October and I didn’t start seriously piling on the weight until the last six weeks or so. And now I’m having all the fun of trying to take it off. I really wish I hadn’t eaten all the junk I did at the end of my pregnancy, when I was feeling lousy and letting myself over-indulge. Don’t do what I did! Not everyone loses a lot through breastfeeding. And some of us who planned to breastfeed found out that we couldn’t and then ended up not having that assist for weightloss. (Yeah, that’s me.)

such a modern mom-to-be :) I wish I could order some of the dresses you’ve blogged about (I’m at 20 weeks), unfortunately, most of the online stores don’t ship to Canada (boooo!)

Also just realized: we have the same haircut! lol!

Love that the “chronicles of pregnant you” and the new specs are very smart!
    I too have black frames!
Did you tell us, is the baby a boy or girl?

Love the necklace (and, lets be honest, just about anything from Anthropologie)!

  • Susan
    January 5, 2009 at 1:08 pm

You look great! I love the new glasses, too. I feel like I have an odd shaped face, so I fear that I wouldn’t have the same luck as you ordering glasses online. I agree with Kari, your necklace is adorable. Is it from Anthropologie?

  • Making it Lovely
    January 5, 2009 at 1:45 pm

I think the necklace is from Anthropologie, but I’m not sure. My sister gave it to me for Christmas.

    Patricia, we’re having a girl!

Jaime, I’ve been buying tights a size larger and that’s been working so far. There are maternity tights too, but they never come in anything but black and brown, and their pricey. Oh, and sometimes I wear thick wool knee socks, but that is admittedly not a look for everyone. ;)

As far as ordering glasses online without trying them on… I’m not sure I could do it! I bought mine at Lenscrafters (after trying on about 30 different frames).
