Take a bath, and get plenty of rest. A bath every night before I went to bed really helped with the comfort issues and made it a bit easier to sleep at night.

You look very cute. It is amazing how much bigger I got in the last couple months. It is also amazing that your body gets back to pretty much how it looked before, although be patient, grasshopper–I was stunned by how different my body looked for about 9 months afterwards, and this is from someone who lost the excess weight almost immediately.

You look lovely! It’s hard, at this point, when you begin to feel uncomfortable. I’m 35 weeks today and only have 4 weeks left before my scheduled c-section. I’ve been uncomfortable for a couple weeks now. But the other day, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and thought “Wow. Look at what amazing feats this body of mine can accomplish.” and I felt so happy and honored to be able to bring this life into the world. Congratulations – I know it’s tough, but take time to embrace what an amazing thing you’ve been doing: growing a new human being from scratch!

(And I had to laugh at your primary color comment… yes, unfortunately, the next couple years the toys likely won’t match your decor. I’m still traumatized at that thought this time around!)

Thanks for the update Nicole:) I know it’s cliché, but you won’t believe how fast it all goes. So enjoy this time, discomfort and all.

It’s exciting and scary at the same moment, but the moment you look in her eyes you’ll know that everything you have done was perfectly executed. She will love her beautiful room and she will find the rest of her home so calming, yet fascinating. I am curious to know whether your beautiful home is filled with music and lovely (natural) scents?

You look so great! Wow, and no swollen ankles – lucky girl. Don’t you love that dress? I have the same one and it’s so comfy and cute. I SO know what you mean about being uncomfortable. I laugh at myself all day long because of the weird things I do to make life a little easier…like waddling (why does it help to waddle vs. walk normally?) and holding the bottom of my belly as I walk up the stairs.

It’s all so exciting though, isn’t it?

  • Tiffany
    February 6, 2009 at 8:09 am

I’d like to tell you it will get better before then but I’d be lying! The home stretch is the worst. But just think, you’ll have a beautiful baby in your arms in a few months and all the discomfort will be worth it. There’s no greater joy than being a Mom.

And if you’re going to be uncomfortable, at least you look great! I never had that much style pregnant!

Omigosh, I see myself in that picture! And I remember how uncomfortable the last couple of months were. You are looking good, and you’re so lucky to be able to wear stylish shoes! (With my first one, the only shoes that would fit on my swollen feet were Nikes!)

Oh, man. You’ve always had such great style, but you claim to be miserably pregnant and still manage to look this good? I have zero excuse for my personal style. which is “hobo” by the way. Or sometimes “target clearance rack meets didn’t feel like changing out of my pajamas.”

    Love your shoes.

I enjoy your blog and your style, but what I like most about you is that you began “showing” as much and as early as I have. I was beginning to develope a complex about being the only pregnant lady who showed so much right away. Please keep the pics coming at least for another 7 weeks until I have my little girl ;)

    Thanks!
