My Top Ten Salt & Pepper Shakers

Salt & Pepper Shakers

Design Mom posted about chic salt and pepper shakers recently. Well having just shopped for a replacement set of our own not long ago, I thought I’d share the flip-side. See, I like my salt and pepper shakers to be shaped like little animals, or people, or to have science jokes, and so on. Maybe they’re not chic, but they’re fun! Of course I’m always drawn to shapely white ceramics too. Here are my top ten salt and pepper shakers…

  1. Salt and Peeper
  2. Granit
  3. Good Chemistry
  4. Classic Century
  5. American Black Walnut
  6. White Porcelain
  7. Lantern
  8. Hug
  9. Bird
  10. Moustache

Cute!! I love them all. You should check out the ones I found when I was out and about a couple weeks ago ( http://www.dreamindomestic.com/2009/10/26/incredible-weekend-finds/ ). They’re Scottish Terrier salt and pepper shakers, or I suppose you could say one is a Scottie and the other is a Westie. I had to buy them since I have a Scottie and love him to death. Let me know what you think!

I have been obsessing over the hug shakers for years now. I saw them in person once and was disappointed that they were smaller than i imagined. Still cute nonetheless.

Cute idea with the top ten list! Salt and pepper shakers are fun! I bought a bunch of vintage ones from a flea market and stuck flowers out of them and then put them on my window sill. They looked so cute!

These are so much fun! I know people who collect vintage shakers and I’ve been known to pick up an interesting pair while thrifting, but these new styles are just awesome. #8 is my favorite. I’ve gifted them to a couple in the past.

Oh man, I LOVE #3 and #10. My grandma has collected salt and pepper shakers for years and years. When she moved into the assisted living center, my mom got all of them. One of these days, I need to go through and find them.

hey there! What do you use to create your inspiration boards? I’m looking for a blank board online that I can pull in products from all over the web to create design boards of any variety – any ideas?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Nicole,
I’ve been loving your blog for a while — and all that you do.

I’ve also been admiring Classic Century from Crate & Barrel. Luv the design. I was ready to buy but there are some negative reviews on C&B about the dishware chipping and cracking. Boo. :(

Anyone else have any experience with this product?

    xo,
