Altitude Design Summit 2010

I’m back from summer camp! Oh, I mean Altitude Design Summit.

I could name all of the amazing people I got to meet and hang out with, but it would seem a little braggy because the summit was just that good. I mean, you saw the list of speakers, right? Add to that the awesome attendees and you have a list of my nearly all of my favorite design bloggers. The organizers behind Alt did an outstanding job, and I’m honored to have been included!

The panels were fantastic. In addition to the Keynote events, we were able to choose between three tracks for each session: Design Theory, Form & Function, or Hands On. I loved listening to what some of my favorite bloggers and influential people had to say on each topic, but it was even more exciting to be able to chat with them personally. Best of all, I left feeling inspired and ready to make this little ol’ blog of mine the best it can be.

Now you’re wishing that you went, right? Don’t worry. It’s all going to happen again next year, and I can’t wait.

My Suitcase is Packed

My suitcase is packed (yes, it’s pink) and I’m ready to head out to the Altitude Design Summit. I’ll be speaking on the first panel, How to Find the Best Design Sites, along with Allison Czarnecki of Petit Elefant, Jaime Derringer of Design Milk, and Karey Mackin of Mackin Ink.

I can’t wait to meet my fellow panel members and all of the other design bloggers that will be attending. Have you seen the list of speakers? It’s going to be amazing!

Lily Mirror

Would it be weird to have this mirror above my desk? It would have to be high enough so that I couldn’t see myself while I worked because yes, that would be weird. I think it could work with the whole granny chic thing I’m going for.

An Update on the Kitchen Trim

The baseboards are finished. The doorways are 85% there. I still have to prime and paint two windows and five doors. And maybe paint the walls too, though I’m liking the yellow more against the white than I did before.

So yes, progress has been made, albeit very slowly. My model below is the reason…

The Wish List

Have you checked out the wish list page recently? There are lots of goodies over there.

I keep going back and forth with the idea of upgrading the wish list section of the blog. It’s not really a wish list (I really don’t need all of those things)… it’s more of an “I like it” list. Would you like me to make full blog posts out of them? I feel like there are so many bloggers that just post pretty things, and you probably don’t need me adding to that. I considered starting a tumblr for this purpose, or perhaps starting a new subsection here that you could read and subscribe to separately. I just have so little time I haven’t been able to work on it! What do you think? Would you like to see the wish list items make it into their own posts, or do you like things as they are now?
