I’m honored to be kicking off Pin it Forward today. I’ve been using Pinterest for a while, and now they have partnered with sfgirlbybay for this event. There are ten groups of participants, and each day one blogger from each group will write about our theme: Home.
What is home to you? To me, it is…

- Surrounding yourself with your things that make you smile. (•)
- Having a cozy spot to curl up with a book. (• •)

- Being a little cheeky. (*)
- Taking chances, even when you’re not 100% certain. (*)
- Adding grace notes. (*)

- Tending a garden. (*)
- Having fun with family. (*)
- Setting aside space for a little one to get lost in their imagination. (*)
You can see my original board (along with others that I’ve created) on Pinterest, and be sure to follow along with all of the Pin it Forward participants to see what home means to them. Tomorrow you can visit Brigitte at Covet Chicago for her take, and let’s thank Victoria and Pinterest for organizing Pin it Forward!

Such cute pics! I love that dresser with the handpainted details.
I love how much FUN is in your apt. There’s color and personality all over!! Great board :).
loved your take on home & how you displayed it on your blog!
I love this. The striped walls make me smile the post though… and the pink drawer pulls.
Very creative way of showing what home means to you, Nicole! Love that dresser :). Can’t wait to share my board with all of you in June! xoxox
I love your take, and those heart links! Now I’m doubly nervous to follow you tomorrow. :)
Gorgeous sentiment and inspiration, looking forward to more of this series !

Well that was so lovely. I especially like the part about “Setting aside space for a little one to get lost in their imagination.” Thank you, as always, for being so open with not only your home but also your heart.
No home is complete without a little cheekiness!

Just so lovely – I absolutely adore your garden!! I can see how you’re so creative with such great work spaces – I think I need to use yours as inspiration for mine :)
These photos aren’t from my own home, but they are pretty aren’t they?

awww this is such a beautiful post! the colors are all soo soft and pretty! you have a great eye for design!
Those are lovely sentiments and striking photos to illustrate them. But I have a dumb question — what exactly is pinterest?
This was such a fun read and I love the little ‘rules for home’ that you added, especially being a little cheeky :) Thanks so much for helping us kick off pin-it-forward.
@Julianna, Pinterest is a place to share visual collections of things you love. Ping me if you’d like an invite.
Do you know who makes the floral fabric in the image above with the red chair? i love it!
Wow, can I just say how totally impressed I am that you took so much time and effort creating these great images. Love it!

Great post! I lovelovelove that little green workspace! If only I could keep mine so tidy :)
Everything here is such a inspiration. All of these images just brighten up my days. Thanks!
I tried to sign up and now I am on a waiting list based on alpha users? I guess because I have a MAC, they are not ready for us right now. Really sad because I want to get started, but I will be patient. :(
I’m not sure how the waiting list works, but I’m on a Mac so it’s not that.
Hey Melanie. I promise it’s not a mac issue. We are just going a bit slowly since the site is so new. But shoot me an email and I’m happy to send you an invite.
Normally I’m happy to live in our cute apartment – safety in numbers, no home repair costs, free pool and hot tub. :)
But this post makes me yearn to own my own home that I can decorate *just so*. I can’t wait to have a lush lawn and be able to use pretty wallpaper!
I love all of these rooms! They are so inspirational!
