Giveaway: Look on the Bright Side

There’s a giveaway going on, and it’s a good one. The lovely ladies over at The Bright Side Project have invited me to share some of my favorite things, and you can win half of them! That’s four of my favorite things, a prize worth more than $500, that you can win by answering one little question over there; What two colors are your favorite together?

Be sure to answer at The Bright Side Project to win. Good luck!

Roof :: Coop

What is it called when you switch out one letter at a time in a word in order to get to a different word?

roof
room
loom
loop
coop

In this case, it’s called linking two unrelated ideas together for a brief update. (Ba dum bum.)

Our new white roof is excellent. People were asking for photos, but there are none to share… We only replaced the flat roof on our home’s addition, which is not visible from below. It has made a huge immediate difference in the temperature of the second floor though! We’re so glad we went with white.

And the chicken coop? I’m still keen on the idea, but Brandon is most certainly not. Therefore we will not be adding chickens to our household. Maybe when Eleanor is older (maybe?), but definitely not in the near future.

Bedroom Status Report

I am working with American Express to redo my bedroom. This week they have provided me with 100,000 Membership Rewards points.

All right. I’m going to go for it and order the Edison Chandelier.

I may be setting myself up for a repeat of the Maskros pendant scale mismatch, but I have to at least try the Edison. There is potential for much excellence. I’m also going to pick up some paint samples this weekend, so we’ll see how that goes.

You already know that I picked up the striped sheets that I had wanted with this week’s points, but I still had some leftover. Brandon and I decided to use this opportunity to get something that we wouldn’t normally splurge on for the bedroom: a new comforter and pillows.

Our bed feels niiiiice now.

Super Budget Edition: Nothing Over $35

The little grey dress is cute as it is, but adding a belt makes it even cuter. I’d add a handmade fabric wristlet and huaraches for pattern and texture, plus a dainty necklace and a big flower ring for interest. And get this… the entire outfit is under $150! Nice.
