Eleanor loves Olivia, so we dressed her as her porcine heroine for Halloween this year.
Eleanor’s pig nose was drawn on with liquid eyeliner, which held up surprisingly well. I made the ears with fleece, wire, and a headband, and I sewed the sailor collar to go over her store-bought dress. The collar even has stars on the back (drawn on with a marker) for authenticity.
We hope you had as great a Halloween as we did!

Adorable! Homemade costumes from book characters are the absolute best.
Love it!!
What a cutie pie!
Absolutely the sweetest costume I’ve seen…
That’s so cute.
That is easily the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! What a creative costume. :o)
Okay, I just have to say once again how inspiring this is! I love that you not only gave your daughter an artful and unique costume, but it was based on a book character and not a t.v. character! Seriously, I hope I’m able to do as many fun, loving, and unique things for my kids as you do for yours (when I have them, someday, a long time from now. LOL.)
I saw these on Flickr, they are perfection! What a fabulous costume idea and I can not believe that she is big enough to go trick or treating, she is growing so fast before our eyes!
She is absolutely adorable…and what a super idea for a costume!
Ian Falconer would be proud. LOVE it.
