Art for the Bathroom

One of the benefits of having a green floor is the ability to layout art on it and imagine the arrangement on your similarly toned walls. Trouble figuring out placements for a gallery wall? Just paint your floors to match! Great planning aid!

I kid. Here’s what I’ve got so far though.

I’m going to use a little ledge for the tumbler and bowl, either in white or green. I’m considering adding a clock though too, and then maybe I’d need another little ledge to balance it out. What do you think?

Also, I’m trying to choose a color for the mirror. I had originally planned on yellow, but I nixed all of the yellow accessories for the room, so now the color would probably look out of place. Maybe black? Or the darker green of that little bowl above?

Hello Sunshine Straw Hat

With a polka dot dress. Yes. Or a polka dot bathing suit! Even better.

This dress reminds me of little girls’ eyelet dresses (my mom LOVES those). What can be adorable on a two-year-old though can often be cloyingly sweet on an adult, so it needs a little toughening up. But not too tough… I think this outfit has a perfect mix of sweet (white dress, flower ring, a belt to cinch the waist) and tough (rad shoes, cool hobo bag, and snake bracelets).

Bookmobile – Poetry

This is amazing. I could see it being equally great over a favorite reading chair or hanging in a kid’s room or nursery.

Powerless

Well, that sounds overly dramatic. An electrician was here this morning, installing GFCI circuit breakers, and so I had no power for the first half of the day. But while I’m thinking about it, I really should find something to cover up the 31″x16″ fuse box. It’s the first thing you see when you come down the basement stairs.

A quick Etsy search for vintage tapestry wall hangings brought up some interesting choices (Led Zepplin? JFK? Kitties?), but perhaps some more searching is in order.
