Honor Roll

Sometimes I come across something so cute/sweet/charming/funny/pretty/inspiring/lovely that I just want to share it with you. These are the things that have made my honor roll.

I also write for Babble’s Family Style blog. Here’s what I’ve been sharing there…

There’s a really cute free printable of mini-bunting here: http://weareteamawesome.blogspot.com/2010/08/teamprints-mini-bunting.html

I have two of Shawna’s wall decals and I love them. One in the dining room and one on our chalkboard door in the mudroom. I love them and they are super easy to install.

I LOVE our yellow front door. Now if only we could get the rest of the exterior of our house painted to match the loveliness of that color. The mint chocolate chip palate of our house was hideous when we moved in, and hideous still. PAINTING SOON!

Ha! I have been mystified by Mormons and design blogs, so that was interesting. I kind of made up my own theory–that if someone is a stay-at-home mom (which obviously, not all Mormon women are), then your main focus would be your home.

Interesting read. There may be a lot of, say, Catholics, who write design blogs, but maybe it’s not called out as much within the focus of the blog itself? Dunno.

Love the truck, not in the least because I have my own Lucie who looked just like that when she was a kindergartener!

Yeah, the Mormon thing is the open secret. Hahaha.

Right now the Church is trying to show people what Mormons are really like, and a big chunk of the women they exhibit are bloggers. Examples: http://mormon.org/me/1QX2 and http://mormon.org/me/2XRX

    Then there’s the queen:
    http://www.youtube.com/user/MormonMessages#p/f/10/KHDvxPjsm8E

The reasons are simple. Women are told that the home is the most sacred place on earth, and what they’re doing there is the most important thing. ever. Blogging is a way to reinforce that.

I love the Sweet Lucie’s truck, it’s so stinkin’ cute and their ice cream is super yummy.

Also, I made the paper lanterns for my pop-up shop a couple weeks ago and they are sooooo easy.
