Will We Have Rainbows, Day After Day? (Free Printable)

My Grandma Rose sang when she was happy, and it wasn’t until years later that I realized most of the songs she sang were by Doris Day. Que Sera, Sera was one of her favorites.

I thought it would make a sweet print for Eleanor, though I did take a little liberty with the lyrics. Doris asks her mother, “Will I be pretty, will I be rich?”, and she asks her sweetheart the line about rainbows. I transposed them because I thought it was better for a little girl’s room that way, and the fact that I could make “RAINBOWS” in rainbow colors may have swayed me a little too.

You may download and print this PDF for your own personal use. The file is 8″x10″, so it will print nicely on a sheet of paper. I used card stock and a white wooden frame from Target.

I’d love to see it if you put this print in your own home too!

Awesome, thanks for giving it away. My daughter *loves* this song, and her birthday is next week! Guess what she’s getting…

PS she also loves pink. =)

Thank You! Just printed this and will frame! I’m giving it to a friend who is in the hospital for the next 6 weeks on bed rest. She is pregnant and is having a girl. Now she will have something beautiful to look at in her room that she can then put in her daughters room when the baby is born! Thank you for sharing!

This is so cute! And it’s really kind of you to make it a free printable. :)

Adorable! Just out of curiosity, what is the font you’re using for the smaller type? Its by far one of the loveliest handwritten fonts I’ve seen in a very long time!

    • Making it Lovely May 23, 2011 at 12:24 pm #

Suomi Hand. It’s the font I use all over the site.

      • Kristin Cronk May 23, 2011 at 12:28 pm #

        Thanks! I adore it!

  8. Adriana May 23, 2011 at 12:04 pm #

Thank you so much! This is super cute! I’m going to print it for my daughter, Ava Grace’s room! She is 4 1/2 and loves rainbow! Thank you for the sweet gift!

Where did you buy your frame!?! I’d love to copy you on that too!

Thanks again for the beautiful gift you shared with all of us your readers!

    I’m curious about the font?

    ~ Ali

    • Kristin Cronk May 23, 2011 at 12:09 pm #

      Target.

    • Making it Lovely May 23, 2011 at 12:25 pm #

Yes, Target for the frame. Which font were you curious about?

      • Ali May 23, 2011 at 12:37 pm #

I know we are probably around the same age ( I may be older)! But,I seriously wish I had had a mother like you! :)

I was curious about the font you used for “will we have” and “day after day”and then also font you used for “RAINBOWS”!

Land of Nod should hire you to do some of their wall art pieces! :) You have such a neat sense of style and fun!

        ~ Ali

      • Making it Lovely May 23, 2011 at 12:50 pm #

Thanks! The first font is Verna (which I posted about here), and the other is Knockout.

How adorable! Thanks for the printable!

  11. Emily May 23, 2011 at 12:16 pm #

Modern yet pretty at the same time. Will you be doing more of these? Such a great idea.

  12. Amanda May 23, 2011 at 12:20 pm #

This is so cute. The fonts are so lovely. I would love to know what the smaller font is called? (ie: here’s what my mother said)

  13. Kristen May 23, 2011 at 12:20 pm #

Awesome… I was just looking at an 11×14 white frame I have …and an empty spot on my daughter’s wall, wondering what to do with it. Seriously – yesterday, in fact.

Thank you so much – this is perfect!

  14. kate g. May 23, 2011 at 12:22 pm #

hmm… i can’t seem to get this to download correctly. i keep just getting a blank file. can anyone help?

    thanks so much for sharing!

    • Making it Lovely May 23, 2011 at 12:26 pm #

Uh oh! Anyone else having any problems? I’m using a new service for the download link, but I thought I had set it up correctly.

      • Ali May 23, 2011 at 12:40 pm #

Sorry, I’m no help. I had no trouble at all with the download. Then I printed it quickly onto card stock on my home printer!

Thanks so much! :) I’m going to tell my daughter, Ava Grace that my LOVELY friend gave this to her as a gift! :)

I’ll be sure to email you a pic once I buy a frame and hang it in her room!

        ~ Ali

    • Lydia May 23, 2011 at 5:43 pm #

Kate, I had the same problem! I circumvented it by clicking on the actual image itself (not the “download” links), which took me to the Flickr posting of the image, which I was then able to download as a JPEG. Printed to cardstock it is now pinned up on my office wall awaiting a frame.

Soooo cute (and one of my favorite songs, btw: I sing it to my son all the time, just like my mom did with me) – a very big Thank You!!!

      • Making it Lovely May 23, 2011 at 7:50 pm #

Smart solution! Here’s the direct link in case anyone else would like to try it that way.

      • kate g. May 23, 2011 at 9:31 pm #

awesome, it worked! thanks so much for the help!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7Bk4EtqCYk

We are having Björk song lyrics embroidered to hang in our daughter’s nursery. Can’t wait to see the finished result!

    • Making it Lovely May 23, 2011 at 7:52 pm #

I have that version as well! It has a kind of creepy carnival undertone to it… but in a good way.

And embroidered Björk lyrics sounds like a fantastic idea.

  44. Lily May 24, 2011 at 2:51 am #

Perhaps you would like to use the actual Spanish letters and symbols, if your font allows it. It would read:

    ¿Qué será, será?

    That’s lovely! Thanks for sharing!

Such a beautiful print! Eleanor will love the story of how your grandmother used to sing this song. I have a pile of prints waiting to be framed in my daughter’s room, and I think I will put your print on the top of them all.
