Honor Roll

Honor Roll

Sometimes I come across something so cute/sweet/charming/funny/pretty/inspiring/lovely that I just want to share it with you. These are the things that have made my honor roll.

  • I’m not sure what a beet cake tastes like, but I wish I could make videos as pretty as this one. (via Poppytalk)
  • Jules says: “One day I’m going to wear a striped top, paint my lips in Mac Lady Danger, and clutch a bunch of pink peonies.” Also? She found a great orangey red lp gloss.
  • And just to be a total blogger cliché, I’ll be photographing myself in stripes this weekend for Stripe Mania. (Do it! It’s all in good fun.)
  • Read this: The 6 Hour Cat. ‘Tis funny. And disturbing.
  • It was a good week for redesigns! Design*Sponge and Oh Happy Day are both sporting a new look.
  • The new issue of Anthology is out, and it’s the best one yet.

I also write for Babble’s Family Style blog. Here’s what I’ve been sharing there…

p.s. I’m announcing a contest on Monday with a pretty amazing prize. I’ve been very fortunate lately to work with some excellent sponsors, but on Monday I’m turning over one of my opportunities to you!

I’m sure I don’t have to mention to you that the woman in that video is wearing a striped top.

Jeez, what a sick story about the cat to post! You should post a warning with it. Not very funny and pretty upsetting.

Sorry, I did warn that it was disturbing. (But I do still think it’s funny too.)

Sorry, that was harsh- I do apologise. But I do wish I hadn’t read it.

Great Video. Beets were originally used in Red Velvet Cake .
PS I loved the cat story. It was very well written and one of those traumatic/funny (in a sick way) family tales most of us have.

OMG…The 6 Hour Cat (while really tragic and sad at the end) still has me laughing.

The cat story, even with a sad ending, was hilarious! Since when do cats not land on their feet? I have posted it to FB and sent it on to my husband. And before anyone else freaks out, we are cat lovers-we have three of our own, but realize that cats are definitely their own animal.

This was a wonderful Honor Roll today! SO many great things to look at. I especially love Anthology magazine. I can’t afford the cost for only 4 mags a year, but will definitely keep checking their site. Thank you so much!

Chocolate beet cake is soooo good – you don’t even know it has beets in it. And I love beets, but in a cake? Yeah, you have to try it.

Loved the cat story – I read it out loud to my husband and it took several tries because I was laughing so hard. “These last six to seven hours have been the best and most disturbing time of my life” … ? Seriously, I was crying. Thanks for sharing that!
