I love this dress so much, I wrote about it on Babble too. It comes in two other patterns, but I wanted to pair it with this kooky necklace so I chose the solid one here. These glasses are kind of kooky too, so I balanced the overall look with a classic leather bag and trendy sandals.* I think this is the perfect outfit for sitting in a museum and sketching, or maybe browsing the stacks at a used bookstore.
* I received a pair of those sandals for review. Thanks, Wanted.

Perfect outfit for shopping too. I love it, thanks for the inspiration!
Love the sandals! I need to get more kooky in my dressing. I feel so boring from wearing stuffy work clothes all the time.
Super fun. Those glasses are totally kooky, but I like them =)

Fabulous… I see a chic chemistry professor!
I like that!
i love that bag; i look at it every time i’m in banana. i tried on the blue print version (ikat?? striped?) at anthro and was disappointed in how frumpy i looked in it, even though it was really cute on the hanger and super comfy. i hate that. now i see it here again and i think maybe i should give it another shot. ;)
I think I want to be the kind of girl who sits in a museum and sketches.
Also? I want poor eyesight as an excuse to wear glasses:)
I think that and having the dress would push me into museum-mode. Instant artist!
See how helpful fashion can be?
Exactly.
I wish I could still be the girl that sits and sketches, but now I’ll be the stylish mom with two little kids at the museum. ;)
I really wish I was wearing that outfit right now. Love it all!
cute outfit! :)
the hemlock dress went on sale today for $79.95!!! i just bought it
Ooh, good timing, Anthro! Thanks for letting us know.
That necklace is so fun! Love the shoes, too!
Has the winner of the contest been posted yet????
I posted in the comments section, but I’ll have a full post on it too. Heather won, with Lisa and Mary Sue tying for second place.
Target has a skirt identical to the bottom half of the dress. Same color and everything. After seeing this post, I will have to go back and get it!
I’d like one too! I’ll have to go check it out.
This is so different from my normal style… but I love it! Esspecially those sandals
I also tried on that dress and also, sadly, looked frumpy in it. It was improved by the addition of a belt, but I still looked so very much more sleek and svelte in this one, which is also cute and super comfy: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=21260203&catId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&pushId=CLOTHES-DRESSES&popId=CLOTHES&navAction=top&navCount=42&color=049&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&isSubcategory=true&subCategoryId=CLOTHES-DRESSES-PRINTED&templateType=subCategory.
Oh, see I looked awful in that one! So matronly and frumpy on me.
That dress is super precious. I love the shape. Great picks yet again!
Yipppieee!!! I just discovered your blog and lala love! The butterfly necklace is beautiful what a statement piece and that dress is perfect not too dressy and just the right amount of casual.
I have to say, the dress (blue ikat version) was awful when I put it on. It was way too thin and sheer and had a goofy cut. Definitely not proportioned for my DD boobs. Even going up a size didn’t help, it was just all kinds of wrong.
I’m a very curvy DD, but I love the dress on me.
I love that necklace! Big, chunky beaded necklaces always make me think, “art teacher.”
i need this outfit, i’m curvy too and this dress looks so comfy! and the necklace is awesome!
