Style: October 2011

That orange dress is so cute and affordable ($30), I think it would be a great staple.* I’d go monochromatic with cinnamon tights and red/orange heels, then add a neutral cardigan to break things up a bit. The elephant bracelet is bananas and could be the sole jewelry, but the outfit still needs something up top so I’d add a simple pendant necklace. And that purse! So charming, and I love adding a completely unexpected additional color.

* The dress isn’t very nursing-friendly, unfortunately for me. I think I’m going to pick one up anyway even though I won’t be able to wear it for at least a few more months.

I actually bought that orange dress in the sleeveless version a few weeks ago and did a post on it. I loved it with a bright magenta cardigan and leopard print belt. Since I saw your post I immediately went online to see what other colors they have and I ordered this version in yellow. Can’t wait to pair it with cobalt blue!

I had to go and look. You’re adorable! And I love the way you paired the dress. Yellow and cobalt sounds awesome too.

(Seriously, go check her out here!)

That dress is seriously cute. I just ordered in two colors and two sizes…hopefully one will work! Looks like it would be a good early pregnancy/post maternity dress. With the exception of the not nursing friendly, of course.

It will be a great early maternity dress! I had a similar style from Target a few years ago in gray that I wore as a maternity dress until I was too far along to fit into it.

I tried to find that dress at Target this weekend (I wanted it in the yellow) and they didn’t have it at all. I wonder if it’s sold out in stores and only available online now.

you are going to stop nursing in a few months?

Well, a few months at least. I nursed Eleanor until she was 14 months old (and may have gone a little longer, but I was pregnant and exhausted so we stopped). August is only 8 months now.

Will check out the Lands End tights – do you have any other brands you recommend for tights? I love thick tights for fall/winter (almost like leggings.) Having a hard time finding any that are cozy and thick but also durable for day-to-day wear with dresses. Advice?

This is so cute and the colors are great. I just wish that it were nursing friendly … my guy is 7mo and so I’ll be nursing for a while – I don’t really see myself taking the whole dress off to nurse/pump. It would be perfect for work otherwise though! I love nursing, but I’m looking forward to being able to shop without having to take that into consideration!

I love the affordability of this outfit. I love a good splurge, but with the holidays approaching, it seems like most of our disposable income goes towards gifts and entertaining so it’s nice to have a little style on the cheap ;)!

I love the orange! I’m sorta loving that it’s not nursing friendly, lol! My daughter is 15 1/2 months and still going strong. Maybe this will finally get her to wean so I can have my body back! But probably not. We’ll most likely go to 2 years. *sigh*

I was recently on the Old Navy website looking for cardigans! I was thinking about the open-weave cardigan in Dumpling (odd name for a color) http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=68131&vid=1&pid=864927&scid=864927042
but I may like the Dolman sleeve one better. Boden has some fun ones as well.

lol, I just bought this in yellow and *then* remembered that I will be nursing when I go back to work and want to wear this. Oh well, at least my work has a lactation room with separate stalls so I can pull it off (literally)…and just hope that there’s not a fire drill.

I would not have thought to pair orange with the blues in the cardigan and the purse…but it works! It’s so cheerful!

Oh that is so cute! I hope this isn’t weird but would anyone be willing to mail it to Australia – Target don’t do international deliveries. :(

I’ll pay for everything of course and I could transfer it via paypal to be safe.

Thank you for finding the dress! I’ve been looking for a yellow dress after seeing a very expensive Tibi wrap dress. This more than suffices!

I can’t wait to do my own take on this!

You are not the only one. My mom always made us the BEST costumes and even though her profession is seamstress I always feel like I need to make the costumes too. Baker wants to be a gray raptor, which does not exist for purchase either. Two weeks…how did it get here so fast?

      Their website currently displays:
“something went wrong when we tried to [load this page/process your request].”
when you try to see the dress. So Target’s run of crappy web sales may continue for a while yet.

Bought it and love it for my not-quiet-back-to-normal post-pregnancy bod. And even though I am nursing my 7 mo old I got it because a) I won’t nurse forever and b) I have started wearing dresses with leggings and just hiking up the dress to nurse. The only thing is that’s def a strategy for being at home, not public. And while it may be a wee bit of a pain, wearing a dress from time to time helps me feel a little more like “me.”

This dress is really cute. I bought it in purple a few weeks back. It’s not quite the color they show on the site- it’s a dark eggplant color and it looks like I should be going to a convent, but in a good way if I accessorize it with the right things. Love Target finds like this!
