Ten Months Old (August’s Monthly Photo)

This little guy is going to be a handful! He’s been crawling for a couple of months now, so he’s bored with that and has moved on to standing and starting to cruise. He has also taken to playing the kazoo (and laughing while the kazoo is still in his mouth). It’s pretty darn adorable. I just wish he’d let us get some sleep; He’s getting a bunch of teeth at once and it’s making him miserable at night. Poor little fella.

I’ll be taking a photo of August sitting in the Eames rocker and wearing his pin each month until he’s two years old. I also took monthly photos of his older sister, Eleanor, until she turned two.

Style: December 2011

This is a little different from my usual style, but not so far out there that I’d never wear it. I love the dress with black tights, and that bag has been on my wish list for a while now. The glasses are awesome, the necklace is bold but not crazy (sometimes I like ‘em a little crazy), and the ring is just plain cool. I think it’s the ankle boots that are pushing me out of my comfort zone with this outfit. What about you — would you wear this? Or maybe with some substitutions?

Eleanor, the Photographer

The winner of my Shutterfly giveaway has been randomly selected, and I’ll edit this post to announce the winner as soon as I have confirmation. Thanks for entering, everyone!

Now, since I showed you Eleanor in full cranky toddler mode, I thought it was only fair to show you this little outtake from the same photo session. She was much more into being the photographer than the subject that day.

That look of concentration! I love it.

p.s. Here were the Official Rules for the giveaway.

Star Wars Guys in Bathtub

Eleanor has created an art installation. She has titled it: Star Wars Guys in Bathtub. They’re taking a bubble bath, just so you know. I’m so proud of my little conceptual artist!

OK, for real though… The dollhouse? It’s slow-going. E is enjoying playing with all of the furniture, and I’m enjoying the idea of the dollhouse, but construction has yet to begin. The dollhouse kit (sanded and primed, thanks to my mother-in-law) is currently living on my dining room table.

Have you all been following along with the “I’m a Giant!” Challenge? Some of the people playing along on twitter are rocking it, but I’ve noticed a lack of activity from everyone else lately. Perhaps I’m not the only one preparing to make a mad dash toward the finish line.

I never know how to pose for pictures, let alone pictures of me in my roller derby gear. Angry face? Tried it. I’m not tough! So a wink it is. *Wink!*

I’m such a dork.
