Me My Life Travel

Toronto

The weather was beautiful, the city was welcoming, and my tour guide was friendly.

I liked the Distillery District a lot. The whole place seemed to be set up as one big photo op! That’s Jennifer from Rambling Renovators in blue, one half of BlogPodium (the reason for my trip).

Lovely Life List item: check! Cross the Canadian border, eh. (Actually, I checked off two items, but I’ll talk about the keynote speech in a separate post.)

Thanks for having me, Toronto.

p.s. I tried poutine. It was good!

I can’t believe poutine isn’t a thing elsewhere! It’s the best thing ever in all it’s fatty glory! They also have a butter chicken variety and a Greek kind… Oh my it’s good. I hope you enjoyed it up here!

Ah, Toronto…I’m glad to see it through your visit because when I was there last Summer for a conference, I was in such a weird mood I didn’t really appreciate it (though I was incredibly/childishly amazed by black squirrels!). Thanks for sharing!

Next time you should try and catcha glimpse of a white squirrel. A bit more elusive, but sitting out on a bench or on the grass at Trinity Bellwoods park, you will eventually see one… Or maybe it is a local thing.

I love the lucite clear bead necklace you are wearing with white skirt. Where did you purchase the necklace?

It’s Kate Spade. I picked it up for $25 or so when they had one of their big clearance sales.

It’s a dream of mine to go to the Distillery District, it’s lovely that you shared pictures! Travelling is one of the best things in life, you can learn so much from even the shortest trip.

I have doubts about Toronto poutines since it’s from Quebec! And the best of the best has to be from “Chez Ashton” only in Quebec city. Absolutely nothing chic about the place but they’re worth the 3-hr trip Montreal-Quebec. Délicieux mes amis!

    Hi Nicole,
So sad that I missed meeting you at Blogpodium this time around but I injured my knee at Blogfest in NYC last week and wasn’t able to attend. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Toronto.
    All the best,

Glad you enjoyed our city, and we loved having you at Blogpodium. You provided really great information. Based on the comments from others I spoke to that day, we were all equally in awe of your knowledge and insights and felt very lucky that you were able to be there.

You’ve captured some great architectural features of Toronto in your photos Nicole. You presented an informative keynote – accompanied by a beautifully designed slide presentation – and it was great to talk to you if only for a few brief moments. Do let us Canadians know when you’ll be back in town!

Isn’t the Crystal addition to the ROM so neat? We just took the kiddies there the other (rainy) day, and enjoyed an amazing lunch in the C5 restaurant at the top of that amazing structure. What a neat place to watch a rain storm.
