'F' for Fabric Kitchen

Deciding on New Kitchen Curtains

I now present to you a series of awkward photos in which I stand on my countertops, holding up fabric to the window in approximation of curtains. Ready?

BHLDN Rifle Paper Photo Backdrop
(the photo backdrop)

BHLDN Rifle Paper Tablecloth
(the tablecloth)

That’s a photo backdrop and a tablecloth, both by Rifle Paper Co. for BHLDN. I bought them to use in a baby shower theme photo shoot, and as I was falling asleep the other night, I realized they would make awesome kitchen curtains.

The backdrop’s pattern is larger and I thought it might be too overwhelming, but now I think I like it better. Which is good, because the tablecloth is no longer available and it was going to break my heart a little to cut the fabric up. (I’d been searching eBay for another, but no luck.) Which one do you prefer? Wait, don’t answer yet… there’s more.

Let there be light!

The first and third photos are the photo backdrop, and the second and fourth photos are the tablecloth. Note that they don’t look so bleached out when the sun shines through them in real life (just when I think I’ve figured out my camera, whoops, blown out windows).

I’m thinking the backdrop is the winner. Yes?

Good gracious. Even with reading which fabric was in which photo I still got confused. Upon detailed inspection, I like the backdrop as well. Big, bold and less detail in the pattern and yet the sun still shines! Go for that one!

Oooo they’re both gorgeous — sorry, no help here — I like them both!

All the good ideas come just as you’re falling asleep!! I think less is more, so I’d go for the more subtle pattern.

If you are doing the same style curtain the backdrop would look great! Any plans for your old curtain? I love the print but can’t find it anymore. :( If you ever wish to resell it, I would be interested if its still in good condition.

They both look gorge, so go for the one where you don’t have to destroy a pretty table cloth … I see you went for the red dress!

LOVE them as curtains. I scored that same lovely tablecloth from BHLDN on sale *great price!* and used it for our 10 year wedding anniversary pop up party on the beach. Have you washed yours yet? I was too afraid the bright color would fade so I’m shelling out $29 have it dry cleaned.

Totally wish that I had bought that tablecloth, I am kicking myself for it now! If you ever want to sell it…or if you cut it up to make curtains I would totally buy the remnants so I could make a lovely curtain! So I guess my vote is for the tablecloth, haha!

I just have to mention – I laughed to myself when I saw you slipped in another striped dress after you said you were done talking about them. =]
Sneaky! Haha, striped dresses are the best though.
Love both options for the curtains!
    Take care!

Definitely the backdrop! I like how the flowers don’t go all the way down to the bottom, giving sort of a peek-a-boo effect. (at least that’s what it looks like in the photo). I’m excited to see what you decide!

I’ve never seen that site, but everythign is so lovely! I am sad that I got married in the days when Jordan almonds were the standard favor and no one did the fabulous decorating/obsessing over weddings.

Ok, I have to ask. How heavy is the backdrop? I’ve been trying to find curtains or roman shades for my office and I think this might actually be perfect to match my palette. I’ll have to buy three and have them cut, etc.
