February 2, 2013 at 12:10 amHi Nicole! I’ve read your blog for a while now and I’ve never commented before- hope you don’t mind! ;) I just wanted to encourage you to start the “poem lines for a penny” idea now. At least with Eleanor anyway. Our oldest daughter is 5 but she had the Lord’s Prayer memorized by just a few months before her 3rd birthday, all the U.S. presidents memorized at 3, and has memorized several other scripture verses since then. She’s just a normal kid, but they are so capable! It’s amazing how easy they can memorize something, we just go over whatever it is we are trying to have her memorize, briefly and almost daily until she picks it up.

February 6, 2013 at 2:30 pmYou’re right, I should probably start now. If Eleanor can memorize a song, surely she can recite a little poem too.
