Sweet Tweed

Eleanor's Yellow Coat

Sweet Tweed

Eleanor has had some cute coats, but this tweedy yellow one (now outgrown) was my favorite. I bought it from Boden when she was still a baby, in the spring when it was on clearance, and then I saved it until it fit her. She wore it from fall to spring last year, and again this fall until it was too small.

Kate Spade Pierce Tweed Coat

Ladies would often compliment her on her coat, then follow up with “I wish it came in my size!” “Me too,” I would say, meaning it.

Today, I spotted the ladies’ version: Kate Spade’s Tweed Pierce Coat. No, it doesn’t come in that fantastic yellow color, but seeing as it is pink, I shall overlook that. It is spendy though. Maybe, like Eleanor’s coat, it will make it through to clearance time? (My guess is that it won’t.)

If I squint and imagine that the model wearing glasses, I can pretend it’s me. That’s totally normal, right?

p.s. Sometimes I like to play around with the formatting on these posts. It may look a little funny if you’re reading it via a feed (RSS) reader.

That’s why I’ll be watching to see if it goes on clearance. Otherwise, I don’t see it in the cards for me.

Just because she writes about a post, doesn’t mean she can afford it or is about to purchase it. This is HER space; it’s where she shows things she likes, or is thinking about. It’s not a place where she needs to be judged on every thing she’s doing, or not doing.

Just voted for you! I’ve never signed up there before (or possibly even commented here) but I’m putting myself out there in 2013. Longtime reader though and you deserve a Homie!

As someone who stalks Kate Spade quite often, I have found most of her items go on sale, so be sure to check the sales every few days. If I see it I will give you the heads up.

    Thanks doll,

I have had really good luck with grabbing things when they go on sale (which does happen a lot with Kate Spade. Please do let me know if you see it.

The coat is wonderful and I’m sure you could probably do something to make it “yours” (legally and creatively of course!) for Valentine’s Day given the pink color. A little Love Me gift of sorts.

Best of Luck with The Homies!

Oh for the love of tweed. Nordstrom Rack once had a beauty, marked down from like $700 to bnout $150. I tried it on and did a twirl in my excitement and then my husband notified me “there’s a huge pull on the back.” I could have cried my hopes were so dashed!

Hope E can find another great coat!

I would have been sad, too!

Eleanor has had some really cute coats, but that yellow tweed one takes the cake.

Hmm, I could not see the number of comments and so on for this post from the front page. I am using Chrome. Might have been intentional (aforementioned playing around with formats!) but just letting you know in case it’s not!

Not seeing my previous comment, so apologize for double post if it turns out it went through:

I use Chrome and there were two weird things on the front page about this post. 1) the title was at the top and bottom of the post 2) the tweet/like/pin it/comment counter thingie was not visible until I actually clicked on the title and moved away from the front page. Dunno if all of that was intentional or not since you mentioned playing around with formatting, but thought I’d mention it. :)

No, that wasn’t intentional. Odd, it doesn’t look that way for me in Chrome. I’ll look into it more though, thanks.

Seems to be back to normal now, and it was just for this one post, the rest weren’t affected by whatever it was. Possibly a hiccup on my end.
