Black and White Wall Art for the Kitchen

Candice Bergen Quote

I didn’t like the white walls in the kitchen until I added our big black and white print. Now the walls look intentional instead of forgotten. I would love to recreate the print for you as a free printable for download (it wouldn’t be difficult), but it doesn’t feel right. I know the quote can be attributed to Candice Bergen, but I don’t know who created the print, or when. Instead, I’ve rounded up a few options for black and white wall art that would feel right at home in my kitchen — and maybe yours, too.

Black and White Wall Art for the Kitchen

  1. OMG CAKE

  2. Like Ron Swanson, I want you to give me all the bacon and eggs you have. (Wait, wait…)

  3. Butcher Prints (set of 3)

  4. This cute flag conversions tea towel, designed by Shanna Murray is no longer available, but the idea of framing it was so cute that I still wanted to include it here.

  5. This conversion tea towel could be a good substitute for the last one.

  6. This triangle tea towel would also look fantastic on display in the kitchen.

  7. These pretzels are making me thirsty. (Maybe he had a different interpretation!)

  8. Kitchen Cooking Print

  9. Newgate Bubble Clock

Hi! How do you like that stool? I need a couple of bar stools and I think that one is my current front-runner (discovered via this blog — thank you!), but I’m having trouble biting the bullet on the price especially without knowing how comfortable it is. So, I’d appreciate your thoughts on it! Thanks!

It’s neutral — neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. I do wish the floor didn’t slope considerably there though because the stool is a little slippery and you can feel yourself sliding forward a bit.

Aw, thanks! You had a bunch of great prints to pull from, but those two seemed best suited to a kitchen.

I WANT THEM ALL! What a great post, I love every single piece – especially love the idea of framing the conversion tea towel so I don’t have to google every. single. time I need to convert. Thanks!

The quote is lovely! On a side note I adore those old hardwood floors. The skinny planks are not seen too often anymore, people want the 10″ wide barnboard style planks. But I still love the little skinny guys!

I love the skinny old planks. I think the proportion is much better than the wide style for our smallish house.

This is the greatest collection!!! I laughed pretty hard at that Ron Swanson quote!

I’m getting ready to put some work into our kitchen as well and art is high on the priority list! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love your print and your ideas to add some humor to the most popular room in the house. We tend to like white walls because we have a lot of contemporary art. I think it works better as a background, but I do envy interiors with bold color. I especially enjoyed the “give me all the bacon and eggs you have” print. Too funny! And fantastic fonts as well!

Hmm I’ve been looking for a poster print size something for our kitchen makeover. Maybe one of these will make the cut!

You cannot go wrong with Ron Swanson and the measurement conversions! I’m in a similar situation with our newly white bathroom which has a black & white sort of thing a happening. Now that it’s time to add in artwork I’m actually having trouble finding something! I’ve got one piece of black and white artwork already up. This post inspires me to keep the same theme going.

The weights and measurements one would be superb in our kitchen though my husband would probably prefer number 3.

We have a giant BW poster in our kitchen, too! It’s an Andy Warhol exhibit poster from Stockholm (it says “I like boring things…”).

Great prints! Too bad the Crate & Barrel towel has an error in the measurements (it says 8 fl oz = 1 1/2 cups).

A quick Google search says that the Candice Bergen quote is from the book Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort of Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach, on the May 31st page. Maybe that information will give you better luck tracking the source of the print down?

Ha! I love the Ron Swanson quote! :) Our kitchen has gray walls & black/white granite counters…and a really ugly lumpy spot in the plaster where some previous owners botched a repair job. I’d love to cover it up with a great big print! Thanks for the inspiration. xo Laura

Beautiful! And I love the towel idea! I prefer to look at textured on my walls and that’s one way to get it! Artist Norbert Marszalek has awesome kitchen-worthy pieces, and in b&w too. https://www.cureeo.com/artists/norbert-marszalek/

I’ve been following and loving your blog for years Nicole (as a lurker!). I adore you and your style soo much! Just wanted to thank you!!!
