August's Room Eleanor's Room Parenting

Poster Children

These are just a couple of shot of details I want to remember from this house. Nothing design-y, nothing you’ll want to pin, but details that I love because August and Eleanor love them.

The two-year-old boy’s version of a pin-up? A Playmobil construction toys poster, along with some of the road construction signs we used for his birthday party.

The Back of August's Bedroom Door

A four-year-old girl’s version? An Animal Crossing poster (her favorite game, and mine), and one from the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! show. More road construction signs here too.

The Back of Eleanor's Bedroom Door

Not the most pleasing aesthetically, but they’re not so bad. Kind of sweet, really. Especially compared to the cars with babes and teen idol posters that may loom in our next home’s future.

That thing in the embroidery hoop looks like a big eyeball at first glance! Eek!

lol, love the YGG. You try to limit it, but when she has to have a DJ Lance doll, how can you say no? Right now O has all of them… except Gooble. On the hunt.

I have seen examples of the mythical Gooble toy, and want it too! I think it was a special promotional Beanie Baby. Of course, if you can sew, you can make one.

Awww, that is sweet. I so can relate. When we left our first home, the one we lived in when my son was born, he was five and I went around his room and took photos too. This fall we’ll be leaving the house he has grown up from a five year old to a tween. It’s those little touches that they love that makes us adore their rooms so much. The little Pottery Barn table and chair where he played for hours creating with Legos will forever be a fond memory in my heart.

Where did you get that beautiful pink couch on the right side of the second pic – dollhouse size ?

It’s a Barbie couch (the one designed by Jonathan Adler). Brandon got it for me/Eleanor as a gift a Christmas or two ago.

So cute! My kids are a bit younger than yours so not yet exerting personality into their rooms. This post has got me looking forward to it. Also love the doll sofa. Where is it from?

You’re forgetting the giant metal MAN CAVE street sign. That could be in your future, too.

This just made me do a mental “awww” I’m 27 and my mom still has the posters that I hung on my door up. This is sweet!

    So sweet, Nicole!

My 7 year old saves every sticker he gets and puts it on his (crappy Ikea) nightstand. It used to really irritate me, but it doesn’t anymore. He’ll outgrow this soon and it will just be a distant memory.

Nice to find another (seemingly sane) adult who’s into Animal Crossing. It’s my secret shame. I tell my boyfriend it’s only because we don’t own a house yet, and I need to decorate rooms SOMEWHERE.

I LOOOOVE THIS! These are the gems. I love when home bloggers show us the REAL things in their homes, not just the pretty things. Thanks Nicole :)
