Almost

Home stretch! It doesn’t feel like it’s almost time, but I’m 38 weeks along already.

38 Weeks Pregnant

We’re expecting a boy, and every stranger that has put forth a guess has guessed correctly. “It’s like a basketball!” they say. “All belly!”

p.s. Me at similar points with the first two pregnancies, here and here.

Yeah, I was all up front like that, too, and I had a girl. Everyone said it was a boy, and one lady actually argued with me. (Um, I had amnio.) So, just saying that, while you look cute, where you carry really has nothing to do with gender.

  • I don’t normally comment, but I had to because you look absolutely adorable. Seriously.

  • You look great!! Hoping you have a happy, healthy rest of your pregnancy! (I’ve got 4 weeks left!)

  • You look so adorable and definitely all belly! Can’t wait to meet the newest baby boy!

  • You look fantastic! I’m currently 25 weeks with my first and beginning to have a round belly. I’m in serious need of some cute bump friendly clothes, and I’m dying to know where you got that shirt!

  • Hi! My LO is 4.5 months and I just wanted to let you know I have a nursing-friendly store so when your LO is born, if you’re ever shopping for gifts or home decor in Forest Park, feel free to stop in and nurse in a comfy seat :) I nurse here, so I love to reach out to other (soon-to-be) nursing moms to show support! Love your blog!

Thanks. I need to stop in sometime anyway — I was looking at some of what you have on the site and it all looks so good!

  • You are looking lovely at 38 weeks and glowing, too! All the best on delivery day! Hugs!

Wow, you look well-rested, perky, energetic, and ready to roll! In fact, you look WAY TOO GOOD for giving birth. I have a feeling you have a few weeks yet. Enjoy it!

Oh, I’m hoping I don’t go past the due date. Eleanor was born 15 days after and I’m not looking to repeat that experience!

  • I had that same maternity shirt and it was my absolute favorite! You look fantastic. Best of luck for a smooth and easy delivery!

You look great! I’m 32 weeks with my second boy and I have the same basketball belly. It’s quite a dramatic look in profile! I hope you get a chance to rest a bit. (ha!)

The profile is crazy. People keep telling me that from behind, I don’t look pregnant. (Until they see me walk/waddle, at least!)

  • You look great and I love the outfit! I hope you are enjoying you are being babied yourself for the home stretch.

  • I was totally thinking boy. You look amazing, happy and healthy! Best of luck!

Aw! I feel like I’ve “known” you forever — I remember the picture of you painting the rug on your old front porch while BIG pregnant with Eleanor. Can’t wait to meet this new little guy :) Thanks for sharing with all of us!

    • A

I cannot believe I was able to do that. I certainly couldn’t take on a project like that this time around!

You look great! I loved wearing stripes while pregnant – I remember when my yoga teacher said you could tell I had dropped because the stripes went in a different direction! It’s funny about the belly – I have two girls and carried “basketball style” both times. If I ever have a third, I’m curious if I’d carry a boy differently.

    • A

Yeah, I don’t see how your body would carry differently based on the baby’s sex. People seem to put a lot of faith in it though!

  • hmmm, will you share a birthday? :) You look fabulous (and nicely coordinated with the room decor!).

  • Heather

You look beautiful! Enjoy these last few days as a family of four and be sure to give Eleanor and August extra cuddles.

  • Kelley

You look great!! Hang in there :)

  • Danielle

  • Melissa

You look great and I love the stripes! I’m 34 weeks with my second boy and get the “all belly!” comments too. Hang in there!

  • Emily T

You look beautiful. Definitely all belly.
Can’t wait to see baby pics and also to find out what you name him!!!
We had our first, a little boy named Otis only 2 months ago. You’d think we named him Satan by the reactions we got. Anyway, I’ve always been intrigued as we too have a cat named Mabel.
All the very best for the safe arrival of your beautiful baby boy.

  • You look vibrant and absolutely fantastic (which is do hard to do when it’s not your first pregnancy).
Yes, indeed that’s a boy belly :) I had a girl first, and then 3 boys and the last 3 times it’s like there is a neon flashing sign shouting ‘I’m male!’ Best wishes for a healthy and safe delivery.

  • Carol

You look adorable and your best yet! Good luck with your new bundle.

  • I was due yesterday, but gave birth 10 days early — thank god! With baby Knox’s early arrival, I got to go to Renegade! Lol
Hope your delivery is quick and easy!
