In the Clouds

It all started with that Cole & Son Fornasetti Nuvole and Nuvolette wallpaper that I love so much. Now I’m continually finding myself drawn to clouds.

Still loving that Etched Arcadia mural I wish I could find a spot for.

And then there’s this sweet cloud painting (print?) that I keep finding on Tumblr (here and here), but can’t trace back to original sources. I’ve seen the art credited to Chessy Welch.

I adore this post. I want something dark and moody in my half bath, and this would so fit the bill. Thanks!

That was great! And who knew Bob Ross could sing like this? I love, love clouds and love this post.

Ooh! Being from and in Seattle, I have a healthy appreciation about clouds but I certainly don’t need extras. :) But I get the admiration!

You might enjoy Jenny Komenda/Little Green Notebook’sblog post about Brooklyn-based artist Tara Andris, who paints gorgeous clouds with metallic hints sometimes.

And you might also enjoy Tina Roth Eisenberg/Swiss Miss’s blog posts about clouds; she’s been a fan of that motif for years so she’s curated quite a collection! (Some are more cutesy than the grown-up pensive ones you posted, but still.)

    Happy cloud-hunting!

Thanks for the links to Tara Andris’ paintings! I’d seen her work a while ago, but neglected to pin it. I’d like to collect a few of her prints from Society 6. The gold leaf affect on her (gicleé!) prints is amazing.

I love the black-and-white photos of clouds you posted. I’m going back to the cloud photos I took last summer and see what they look like in black and white with the contrast pumped up. Love the inspiration. And thanks for the new obsession – clouds.

Funny. I was in the special Ed room today talking to the teacher
And I looked up at the ceiling and the fluorescent
Lights were covered with cloud panels. Not as pretty
As the clouds you have here but an lovely, unexpected surprise.

All of these feel so sublimely English to me, like J.M.W. Turner paintings brought into focus. So pretty!

    I understand the obsession.
I actually used the “etched arcadia” in my kitchen. It makes the space look 2x as large. It is my proudest DIY to date.

So as much as I have a strong distaste for all things auto-tuned…I found myself suddenly really interested in watching old Bob Ross videos and really learning how to paint.

I first saw that last cloud art after you pinned it a while ago and went on a hunt to find the artist. I think the artwork was first posted on Flickr, and those two interiors are photoshopped.
