    I heard stories about the D.C. beach and the incubator babies on NPR this week, so it was cool to see pictures and read the 1928 article. Thank you for digging that up. They gave the babies whiskey! And all the germs, too, but it seemed to have worked.

    If you’re looking for a new book that’s historical fiction about Coney Island, I just read Alice Hoffman’s The Museum of Extraordinary Things. She definitely mentions the incubator babies as well as some of the other attractions.

    Another person on goodreads suggested Dreamland by Kevin Baker too.
