Wha? This is up on a Tuesday!? Madness. Also, it’s completely self-promotional. Look at meeee! Look at what I wrote all over the interwebs!
-
High/Low: the floor lamp edition. (I have been looking at a lot of lights lately. Can you tell?)
-
So many gorgeous black, brass, and white sconces. How do you choose when you love them all?
-
Of course, you can always make your own brass wall sconce. (I love a good DIY that doesn’t look like a DIY.)
-
Black walls are chic for Halloween and beyond.
-
Put this mini forest in your home. Nature, without all the bugs and ickiness.
-
Get the look: natural meets nautical. Navy blue and white, say hello to woven textures.
-
I know. You were just thinking to yourself, “self, these walls need some brass letters and numbers.” Right? I’m on it.

If I was less sure of my plans and skill set for tackling Eleanor’s ceiling with a stencil, I’d go for these metallic stars instead.
This week on my Facebook page, enter to win an assortment of eco art kits from Artterro. Good luck!

Psst… Fix the hyperlink, for “Natural meets Nautical”. It’s redirecting to http://www.makingitlovely.com.

Oops. All fixed now!
If it’s not on your radar for the Star Ceiling in your daughter’s room… another option may be using contact paper (thanks, Pinterest!).

Looking forward to seeing the progress and reaction!
Yep, I’ve seen that!
Wholeheartedly endorse your recent lighting obsession :)
I love the brass DIY light!!
You have been busy! lots of good info.. liked the ones on lighting the most.
I wonder if a Moravian star would look good in Eleanor’s bedroom? http://www.elcallejonart.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17&products_id=91
I just got some gold coronata stars from Wallsneedlove.com and they are perfect!!!! I was all set to do stencils but could not possibly have been any happier with these results!!! For less than 30 bucks and about an hour of work I got the whole ceiling of my girls’ room done and it looks so sweet! Thanks for the inspiration ;-)
Because you’re becoming quite the lighting aficionado I have a question for you to ponder. Where on Earth can one find good looking but practical piano lighting that doesn’t completely break the bank? The ugliest and most utilitarian of piano lamps can run in the hundreds of dollars. I’ve avoided buying one for that reason and it’s long overdue. Thank you!
your blog is just beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing!

Love that you wrote about the Nest items. We installed the thermostat at our place in May and it is AMAZING.
