The armchair in August’s room will soon be out of there. Nobody is sitting in it much (we read more in bed), and when I asked him if he would rather keep the chair or have a desk instead, he wanted a desk. Eleanor has one in her room, so of course August wants one too.
His bedroom has unpainted wooden trim, a wooden dresser, a black bookshelves. The bed will be upholstered, and the only other soft surface (the armchair) is being removed. I’ll be repainting and I’ve already added a more colorful rug, and I’m looking to bring in more color with the desk and chair. I found twenty options that can mix and match and when I showed them to August, and he said he wanted red. No, light blue. “No, all of them! Stack them up to the roof!”

I the black Eames chairs in fiberglass for my breakfast room. I love them for us but the scale is great for my nieces and nephews too. Very cute for a kid’s room in blue!

I think the longer desks will probably grow with him more than the smaller ones (7, 17). They also allow for more than one kid to work at whatever crazy project they have on the go. The red desk (20) is probably my favourite of the bunch. The x-base is really popular right now but overall I think the shape is fairly timeless and good for a boy.
Now for the chair, I have no clue how you’re going to choose. They are all adorable.

I would mix 19 with 20.The chair looks the most comfortable and the desk is the cutest. And both colours match well! Curious to find out what you went with.

We had one similar to the ikea secretary in Roan’s room and it was constantly stuff with paper clutter. It would just fall out when he opened it. Adorable when closed but not compatible with a kid’s version of cleaning up. At least not my kids :)
