Making it Yours 9: Sierra Four-Drawer Chest

So, apparently I do these every six months? I always mean to do them with more frequency, but alas.

My Making it Yours (MiY) series is all about finding a piece of furniture you love, and making it work for you through changing styles and different stages of life. I like to imagine a story for each item I choose, and show how it can work for the same person in a variety of ways, or how someone else may inherit a piece and give it a new life.

A home doesn’t come together overnight. You may start out with hand-me-down furniture, and slowly incorporate pieces you love as you’re able to. Or maybe you find an amazing vintage dining set that is perfectly you, and so you incorporate it into several different looks that speak to your changing taste over time. That’s how my home has evolved, and likely yours as well.

In this, the ninth edition of MiY, I’ll be showing the Sierra Four-Drawer Chest in three different designs. It will start out in a bedroom, as you might expect. The second look will see it in the bedroom again, but years later and with a different decorating scheme. The third look will then see the chest moved into a different room entirely, and I’ll show how it can work as part of a living room.

The first look will be up later today.
