From Placemat to Necklace

Deborah Dee just posted the cutest idea on her new blog… little pendants made from paper scraps and a bamboo placemat.

All of the photos above are from Deborah Dee’s blog and flickr.

I’ll have to pick up a placemat next time I’m at Target – I want to give it a go!

So cute…what a great idea!

That’s so cute! Really nifty idea!

(Side note: please check the IF forums, I received an email meant for you - I think?)

That’s a really neat idea and a fantastic way to ‘upcycle’ without having to unnecessarily through away anything! I wonder what else you could make out of the little tiles….

Nicole,

this is really smart. Who knew! I threw away a bunch of wooden place mats….oh well, a note to myself for next time.

From the first photo I thought this post was about making candy and I got really excited. But I’m glad it wasn’t a huge letdown… those pendants are cute!

I LOVE this idea!

how funny that you would post this..

i am actually working on some of these and ones from scrabble tiles for my forthcoming etsy shop..

i did not buy the mats but ordered the wood pieces from etsy suppliers..

i love the pieces that she made..very colorful and fun!

So cute! What a great idea!

And with the right stringing wire, these would also make great handles for small purses. Thanks for linking to this. I love it.

Hallo - I found your site by Moop Bags - wonderful idea and Thank you for being bold to share.
