Style: April ’11

Oh, you guys. You didn’t think that that other outfit was my April Style post, did you? That was my little April Fool’s Day joke. Ha ha, jokes on me. I looked like that all throughout high school.

I am loving that striped dress. Part of me thinks I can wear it because it looks nursing friendly, and then I remember that I still look five months pregnant and maybe horizontal stripes aren’t my friend. (Jokes on me again?) I’m thinking about getting it anyway.

I like the sweet simplicity of a silver locket paired with something unexpected like this rubber dipped copper arrow ring. Springtime calls for a straw hat, and a cute floral (or in this case branched) bag. And I think I may have mentioned the shoes before, but I still want a pair of old-lady Worishofer sandals too.

I think my favorite part about the April Fool’s Day post is that you used Comic Sans.

I’m in love with this one! I wish I could just go through your closet and see all the different stuff you have! I’m in Berwyn, so every-time I go to Oak Park I secretly hope I run into you just so I can compliment you in person for your taste.

I love it when you do style posts, but I have to admit that I’m not so brave in the style department. But that dress…that dress, that dress, that dress…I would snap that up in a heartbeat, and wear it Often!

I am in love with that ring!! I know what you mean about the horizontal stripes, I’m a huge fan but am sure it’s not the most flattering selection for me to make! Have been ignoring this rule lately and have bought a few striped pieces, go for it!

I like the shape of this hat, it is masculine in style but is also distinctively feminine. I’m going to recreate this look this weekend with things I already have! You have such fun style, thanks for the inspiration!

I found a similar dress at Target today. I don’t like it quite as much as the one above, but it’s still cute and it’s only $18! It comes in navy or khaki.

I got the Worishofer sandals for a wedding a couple months ago. They’re cute and comfy, but they need to be broken in before being on your feet all day, I got blisters…

Love this style post!! Especially that ring, ooh lala!!

I just got that dress yesterday and it is VERY flattering. There’s side ruching which seems to mitigate the horizontal stripes somewhat. I am by no means tiny or toned and the dress was still really cute, if I do say so myself. Go for it!

Lovely picks this month! I love that dress, too, but I was thinking the same thing about the stripes. I need clothes that work FOR me and flatter me, and I feel like I would be fighting against this. For another body type, this is amazing!

I have also been considering Worishofer sandals, but I’ve heard they don’t hold up in the rain. Is this a problem? I’m always worried that I’ll get caught in a summer storm.

This post made me go straight to Ann Taylor and purchase the dress. They were having Friends & Family 30% off and free shipping. I’m wearing it today and have already received so many compliments! It is incredibly flattering, and most importantly, very comfortable. Thanks for finding it!
