Will We Have Rainbows, Day After Day? (Free Printable)

My Grandma Rose sang when she was happy, and it wasn’t until years later that I realized most of the songs she sang were by Doris Day. Que Sera, Sera was one of her favorites.

I thought it would make a sweet print for Eleanor, though I did take a little liberty with the lyrics. Doris asks her mother, “Will I be pretty, will I be rich?”, and she asks her sweetheart the line about rainbows. I transposed them because I thought it was better for a little girl’s room that way, and the fact that I could make “RAINBOWS” in rainbow colors may have swayed me a little too.

You may download and print this PDF for your own personal use. The file is 8″x10″, so it will print nicely on a sheet of paper. I used card stock and a white wooden frame from Target.

I’d love to see it if you put this print in your own home too!

The Que Sera Sera print is wonderful – I sing this to my little ones as my Mum used to sing this to me when I was young, and she is no longer here so this will be a great way to have a happy memory around the house. Thank you xxx

  • I really love this print and I really want to display it on my daughter’s birthday party. But I can’t download it (it seems there is a file damage or something like that). Could you please email me the file to meryatmodjo@gmail.com. I really appreciate your help. Thanks…

  • I just love how you made the song lyrics your own ! Will definitely keep this in my favorite for my girl’s next bedroom :)

  • Talent. That’s what you have: Talent. How did you create the water color effect? Did you use photoshop or illustrator?

  • I’m new to your blog and just saw this. I love it! I sang that song to all 4 of my kids when they were little. The oldest is about to turn 31 and the youngest is 17. Great memories! And as for taking liberty with the lyrics, my first 3 were boys so yep I have done that too! This is just lovely, I will have to print it and keep it in my “one day I’ll be a grandma” box!

  • Thank you for this. I used it as part of my living room gallery wall.

And thank you for changing up the lyrics!

Are they from land of nod like the bedding for your daughter’s bed?

    ~ Ali

    • A

No, these are the curtains that are still up in the nursery (from Pottery Barn Kids). I took the photo there, but I’ve since moved the print into Eleanor’s room.

  • so cute!!

  • Thanks for posting this, Nicole. My mom sang that song to me all the time while I was growing up. Now that she’s moving out of the state next week, I’d be great to put it up in my one-year-old’s bedroom as a reminder of her grandmother. Thanks again!!

    ¿Qué será, será?

  • Oh, Nicole, this is so beautiful! My best friend is pregnant and I think this print would look beautiful in her new kidsroom. Thank you so much. I think I have to go and tell my readers about this … xoxo caro

I had no problems printing it out bith a test run in greyscale and a high quality color run. perhaos the printer brands and/or drivers make a difference. i’m an all-HP household.

  • LOVE this!! Have you heard the Pink Martini version? It’s pretty fabulous!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7Bk4EtqCYk

We are having Björk song lyrics embroidered to hang in our daughter’s nursery. Can’t wait to see the finished result!

    • A

I have that version as well! It has a kind of creepy carnival undertone to it… but in a good way.

And embroidered Björk lyrics sounds like a fantastic idea.

  • Love it! Off to listen to the song

  • Lauren

So sweet! Can I ask what program you used to make this?

  • Very pretty! Are you a graphic designer?

  • kate g.

hmm… i can’t seem to get this to download correctly. i keep just getting a blank file. can anyone help?

    thanks so much for sharing!

    • Lydia

Kate, I had the same problem! I circumvented it by clicking on the actual image itself (not the “download” links), which took me to the Flickr posting of the image, which I was then able to download as a JPEG. Printed to cardstock it is now pinned up on my office wall awaiting a frame.

Soooo cute (and one of my favorite songs, btw: I sing it to my son all the time, just like my mom did with me) – a very big Thank You!!!

    • A

Uh oh! Anyone else having any problems? I’m using a new service for the download link, but I thought I had set it up correctly.

      • Sorry, I’m no help. I had no trouble at all with the download. Then I printed it quickly onto card stock on my home printer!

Thanks so much! :) I’m going to tell my daughter, Ava Grace that my LOVELY friend gave this to her as a gift! :)

I’ll be sure to email you a pic once I buy a frame and hang it in her room!

        ~ Ali

  • Kristen

Awesome… I was just looking at an 11×14 white frame I have …and an empty spot on my daughter’s wall, wondering what to do with it. Seriously – yesterday, in fact.

Thank you so much – this is perfect!

  • Amanda

This is so cute. The fonts are so lovely. I would love to know what the smaller font is called? (ie: here’s what my mother said)

  • Modern yet pretty at the same time. Will you be doing more of these? Such a great idea.

  • How adorable! Thanks for the printable!

  • Thank you so much! This is super cute! I’m going to print it for my daughter, Ava Grace’s room! She is 4 1/2 and loves rainbow! Thank you for the sweet gift!

Where did you buy your frame!?! I’d love to copy you on that too!

Thanks again for the beautiful gift you shared with all of us your readers!

    I’m curious about the font?

    ~ Ali

    • A

Yes, Target for the frame. Which font were you curious about?

      • A

Thanks! The first font is Verna (which I posted about here), and the other is Knockout.

      • I know we are probably around the same age ( I may be older)! But,I seriously wish I had had a mother like you! :)

I was curious about the font you used for “will we have” and “day after day”and then also font you used for “RAINBOWS”!

Land of Nod should hire you to do some of their wall art pieces! :) You have such a neat sense of style and fun!

        ~ Ali

    • Kristin Cronk

      Target.

  • Adriana

Nice! I am looking for art for my daughters room! I will definitely share once its up. Thanks!! :-)

  • Kristin Cronk

Adorable! Just out of curiosity, what is the font you’re using for the smaller type? Its by far one of the loveliest handwritten fonts I’ve seen in a very long time!

  • Love this! Thank you!

  • I love that song. Great art on your wall.

  • This is so cute! And it’s really kind of you to make it a free printable. :)

  • Thank You! Just printed this and will frame! I’m giving it to a friend who is in the hospital for the next 6 weeks on bed rest. She is pregnant and is having a girl. Now she will have something beautiful to look at in her room that she can then put in her daughters room when the baby is born! Thank you for sharing!

  • Chelsea
