That is too cute. And so glad that you took a photo; I am sure it will be a memory that you won’t want to forget! My son (who is almost 2) likes to pick out his own outfits these days….but he usually goes with a red striped shirt (long sleeve, even if it’s 100 degrees outside) and bright orange shorts. Oh my. Reply maile June 2, 2011 at 8:08 am oh Eleanor, you are so cute! Reply kitty June 2, 2011 at 8:11 am she looks like she stepped out of a crewcuts catalog! i love it. what a doll. Reply Tina June 2, 2011 at 8:16 am That is so cute. I remember those days of my now 7 year old daughter picking out her own outfits. Reply Jill V. / TerraSavvy June 2, 2011 at 8:17 am I can’t wait until Claire (1y.) starts doing that. My middle one, Cole who is now 6, loves to pick out his clothes. It’s my favorite when it’s all a big mix-mash of patterns. BTW – your daughter is beautiful! Reply Sid June 2, 2011 at 8:24 am Ah yes, adorable chubby legs, shorts and rain boots are the sartorial choice for toddlers-in-the-know this season – love it! Reply Cindy June 2, 2011 at 8:26 am yeah she does. SO cute! Reply Amber Wallace June 2, 2011 at 8:37 am Love it! She could not have picked a outfit more cute! I’m LOVING the froggy boots :) She is so pretty and has such personality. Reply May June 2, 2011 at 8:51 am I love it when kids pick out their own clothes, it’s such a neat window into their personality! All the kids I’ve cared for have loved to dress themselves – one six year old always wanted to wear a skirt, even if she was already wearing a dress over some trousers! (That one got vetoed because of the amount of laundry.) Reply Christa M June 2, 2011 at 8:54 am I love that she’s gone for layering. :) So precious! Reply Anne with an e June 2, 2011 at 8:56 am Adorable! The girl clearly has personality… Reply Alice June 2, 2011 at 9:05 am I love it! She has excellent taste :) We sometimes look back at old pictures and chastise my mother for letting us look so crazy but she always reminds us that we chose that outfit and how she never wanted to force us to wear something matching or cut our hair a certain way. Reply martine@martinelouisedesign June 2, 2011 at 9:06 am Cutie!!! She’s really pulled off that eclectic, “I just threw this together but really spent hours on my look” – love it! Reply heather June 2, 2011 at 9:07 am My daughter Olivia (who is eleanor’s age) would choose those exact same froggie boots every day of the week if i’d let her! she loves them!!! Reply CrystalC2B June 2, 2011 at 9:16 am I hope you were able to snatch her up and nibble on her knees Nicole! She’s so dang cute! Also, I want her hat! Reply Julie June 2, 2011 at 9:39 am “Oh yes, she did!” My little niece has the same innate sense of style. How can you improve on perfection? Reply Pam June 2, 2011 at 9:41 am Oh my gosh. Her little legs are the cutest! That first photo melts my heart. Reply SShaw June 2, 2011 at 9:45 am Haha, I LOVE it when kids dress themselves! I think this should become a regular fashion feature. Reply donaville June 2, 2011 at 9:51 am cute! were these photos taken with a new camera? love the natural lighting. Reply Stephanie June 2, 2011 at 10:12 am This brightened my morning! I love seeing what kids come up with on their own. She’s definitely color coordinating – matching her hat & shoes, socks & shirt. Reply Kara @ Just1Step June 2, 2011 at 10:26 am Wow she actually looks really really cute! Good job Eleanor! Reply Katie Campbell June 2, 2011 at 10:31 am I love it!! Those boots make regular appearances at my house, too :) Reply Sarah Hettervik June 2, 2011 at 10:34 am It’ so funny how they always gravitate towards the rain books lol – Sarah Reply Rebecca June 2, 2011 at 10:48 am You can tell this girl’s got style! I would have totally picked the frog rain boots too Reply Jessica June 2, 2011 at 10:52 am She did a great job! When my mum let me choose my own outfits, my dad would always ask, “You’re taking her out of the house like that?!” The women that worked at my daycare, however, upon my entrance exclaim, “Jessica dressed herself today! You did such a great job!” My go to outfit was always a pink bodysuit/tutu combo and my snow boots. Nothing screams grace like a ballerina in snow boots. Reply Heidi S. June 2, 2011 at 11:02 am Love it! She looks great! Both of my kids (2 & almost 4) love picking out their clothes and have put together some pretty awesome outfits. Rain boots (currently fireman boots for Sam and hello kitty boots for Maisie) and various hats figure prominently into a lot of their looks . Reply Parakh June 2, 2011 at 11:13 am awwww that is a-DOR-able!!!! :) She sure can work it! Reply Amy June 2, 2011 at 11:15 am SO CUTE! Thanks for sharing! Reply MIMI June 2, 2011 at 11:34 am My 3yr old niece does it we live in Florida and one day she put on a cute polka dot sundress (she loves all things polka dot)and these super duper thick white tights over her Ariel pj shorts (she proudly said wanted to keep them on) and sandals on the wrong feet of course. It was adorable but seeing as it was 90+ degrees we had to make her take off the tights lol. Reply Anna June 2, 2011 at 12:12 pm It’s the epitome of festival chic! Kate Moss doesn’t have a patch on her. Reply Danielle@NewlywedsParadise June 2, 2011 at 12:16 pm I must say, the yellow sure brings out the pink in her shirt :-). Too cute. Reply Kia June 2, 2011 at 1:12 pm She actually did well. I’m impressed. Reply Pam June 2, 2011 at 1:36 pm Go Eleanor!!! You look beautiful! :) Reply Edie June 2, 2011 at 2:19 pm She kind of looks like she was inspired by your living room!! Are the green plant things still in the vase next to your tv? Reply daria June 2, 2011 at 2:20 pm Eleanor has such great taste! My daughter started choosing her own clothes after 3 years old, and her outfits don’t usually look this good. It’s always prints with prints and more prints! It’s fun though. Reply Camille June 2, 2011 at 2:49 pm So sweet <3 :) She'll go far ! Reply Lynn Kelly June 2, 2011 at 3:16 pm Looks great to me! No problem here! Reply Jodi June 2, 2011 at 3:25 pm Is that hat from the Olivia Dress Up Treasure Chest? My daughter Penelope (who was born the same day as Eleanor) is a huge Olivia fan too! LOL Reply ArticulateArt June 3, 2011 at 3:34 pm Love the frilly yellow sweater! She looks adorable! Reply Little Edie June 3, 2011 at 7:07 pm to die for. Reply April June 4, 2011 at 10:43 pm She really does! I’m impressed! Reply whorange June 6, 2011 at 12:44 pm The boots. The wallpaper. The photography. So much perfection! Reply Alison @ The Peacock Diaries June 7, 2011 at 11:27 am Love this! Usually when I see girls dressed like this, they are with their dads and their hairdos are adorably crooked…and I think, “Dad let her dress herself!”. I recall being quite particular about choosing my clothes at a young age, and I know I looked fabulous. Go Eleanor! Leave a Reply Cancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
