- I think this was my favorite look yet from Secrets From a Stylist. Did you like it too? (So much pink!)
- How do you talk to little girls? Do you compliment them on their looks before anything else? (I see this all the time when I’m out with Eleanor.)
- Design matters.
- Clara’s closet is pretty cute.
- She’s calling off the jam. (Roller derby, it’s hard to quit you.)
I also write for Babble’s Family Style blog. Here’s what I’ve been sharing there…
- These pom pom pillows actually manage to look grownup! OK, and there’s a cute kid version to check out too.
- Awesome social media propaganda posters. Join the cause!
- 6 cute colorful watches. (I like the red one.)
- Oh, look! The perfect gift for that Libertarian uncle of yours!

There is a brass shelving unit for sale ($50) at Affordable Antiques in Naperville if you are interested.
Just thought I’d let you know. If you can’t get there, I can go & pay for it & have them hold it until you can pick it up. Then you can just pay me back. I trust you.
I love the advice about how to talk to little girls!
The article on how to talk to little girls offered some very interesting perspective. When my now 14 yr. old daughter was Eleanor’s age, she got a lot of attention because she had a head full of gorgeous Shirley Temple-esque ringlets. But really I think thatany time that strangers talk to or compliment your children is a great opportunity for them to practice language, social skills and small talk etiquette! Have a great weekend! I love that fushia sofa, thanks for the inspiration.
i was just telling my husband that that was my favorite episode of ‘secrets of a stylist,’ too! that sofa was amazing and that brass shelving…oh!
Pom-pom pillows?! I love it!
Nicole, your honor roll feature is one of my favorite aspects of your blog! I am always amazed at the things you manage to find across the “world wide web!” I would love it if you took a look at my quirky video on how to make an Israeli salad…I dabbled in a little stop-motion animation and decided to tell a little love story with the vegetables :) If anything, I think you might like the song to!

I think that was my favorite shelf she’s used. Emily is by far the most talented designer to come out of Design Star. (In my opinion, at least.)
