'D' for Decorating Bathrooms

Some Affordable Bathroom Update Ideas

I’ve been sort of planning a little redo for our main bathroom. Not in any real, concrete way, mind you. More of a “gee, we’ve lived here for five years and have never touched the space, aside from hanging up a shower curtain” kind of way. (I’ve never even showed it properly, other than this shot.) So I’ve been looking at affordable updates, and I put a whole roundup together of bathroom decor under $50. I think a new shower curtain may be in order at the very least.

I really wish I had an IKEA close by. I want that cart in turquoise.

That laundry hamper is genius! Although I’m a bit disappointed you didn’t find an under 50$ machine machine.., I was so excited! ;)

Love the shower curtain? Is it navy or black? I wish it was black (because my bathroom is black and white), but it looks navy.

Okay, I’ve seen so many bathroom ideas/updates along these lines that I really didn’t think I’d be seeing anything that would get my attention. Girl, was I wrong! You killed it here. You have such great taste and I am seriously loving the shower curtain, rug and cart. Navy, orange and pink. YEAH!

I love, love, LOVE that cart in turquoise – I think I actually squealed when I saw it in the store – and I’m desperately trying to find a place in my tiny apartment for it.

Shower curtains are a slippery slope for me. I have way too many.

I don’t know how it is that I only have exactly the number I need (2).

I love the shower curtain–I have a Mamie pink bathroom, and I think the curtain and rug would update it so well! Thanks!

I want to marry that cart. I seriously love it, might but one in blue for the kitchen and another in gray for our bathroom as well. Love it on your mood board too.

Can’t wait to see your tweaks. Xo

Nicole, you totally did the work for me. Thanks! I don’t know what it is but I am seriously in love with this color scheme lately. I want to do the master bedroom in it, so I might as well do the bathroom too!

Those are very cute items–but now I am super curious to see your bathroom in its “before” state!

I’ll have to show it soon. It’s not terrible, not great. The fixtures are all really old, but in a charming retro kind of way.

I not only don’t live near an IKEA, but when shopping online IKEA doesn’t ship this item and all states that all stores are out of stock as well. This is a horrible tease! This cart is on every design website and impossible to actually obtain. (Pouty face and a foot stomp!)
