New Art Above Eleanor’s Bed

I planned a mini-makeover for Eleanor’s room a while back. It took a while for her polka dot wall vases to get here, and then longer still for me to finally get everything hung on the wall, but it’s finally done! I’ll show more of the finished room soon, but first, here’s a shot of the new art above Eleanor’s bed.

I laid it all out on the bed before putting it up on the wall so I could play around with the placement. The cat hanging is a vintage Tammis Keefe tea towel hung on wooden dowels, the lowercase ‘e’ was from Anthropologie and the uppercase ‘E’ from Urban Outfitters. I got the wall dot vases in an online flash sale, but they’re available directly from Chive, and the screenprinted flower is by three sheets 2 the wind.

How much did you involve Eleanor in the process of picking out these things? Did she help at all, or was it more like: “surprise, I did this for you?” Super cute, btw.

I chose everything, but made her feel like she was a part of the process. “What do you think about these? Do you think the pink one should go here, or here?” She knew we were going to add some things above her bed beforehand too, and she was excited about helping put it all up.

Love those vases and the lowercase e! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the room! It’s fun making a room grow with your little isn’t it- I’m in the middle of doing my 3yr old’s room at the moment!

Adorable! I love using initials in decorating and have been thinking of ways to do it my home. I also have a print from 3 sheets 2 the wind. Her stuff is really nice – plus she’s from Cincinnati like me.

These vases are such a great find, the colors and finishes are like zellige tiles.
