Felt Reindeer

Jules warned me that my taste would change. Whimsy, sweetness, and cutesy… it will all be irresistible to me now that I’m with child.

Is this proof? Would I have seen these pre-pregnancy and thought “meh, too twee”? Especially since I couldn’t get them to stand up and instead placed them in tiny little chairs? I don’t know, but I sure do love them.

The chairs are ornaments from west elm (a few years ago).

  • I love them, where on earth did you get the little chairs?

  • I love the decor!
    Everything is flawless.
The tiny felt reindeer sitting on west elm chairs are priceless too!

  • I love them!

  • I think Jules needs to stage an intervention before it’s too late. I had a baby almost a year ago and I have managed to keep cute to a minimum, although it’s been hard. Be vigilant, it sneaks up on you fast and your knee deep in baby dolls and hedgehogs! Call a friend if you think you might be slipping. (ha ha)

  • Awww, they are sweet:)

from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have children and won’t for a few years, I think they’re great. there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of cutesy…. just don’t turn your entire house into a princess dream castle, is all.

  • I swore I would never fall victim to some of the more cutesy things, but where Christmas is concerned, I’ve found myself collecting country-style moose! and I don’t even have a kid. I’m just sad!

  • I think your nesting! My Little One is now 11 and we are slowly leaving the cutesy stage and entering “scary teenage stuff”. Enjoy the cutesy…

It’s true. My girl is now 16 months old and my tastes are definitely more whimsical and cutesy – a far cry from what they used to be. It’s so easy when you have a daughter, too…. Just wait :-)

  • those are way too cute!!!

  • omg! jules is soooo right! i vowed NEVER to design my son’s room in any FRANCHISED character! so yeah just because the curtains arent in toy story2 and the comforter isnt in nemo…doesnt mean there arent every single toy from every single disney and dreamworks movie flanking every single shelf in his room! so although the room isnt “themed” IT SURE DOES LOOK LIKE IT! lol..

but those are sooo cute..and jules is RIGHT AGAIN! listen to mommies! lol you will always be right someday (soon!) lol

aww! those are too cute. i love them! when did you get them? i didn’t see them yesterday :(

  • The reindeer are totally cute (and a wee bit “I’m a mom.”) So says the woman with 95,000 Santas all over the house.

Just wait. One day you’ll plan an entire party around a franchised character simply because your child thinks they’re awesome.

  • wow, i just realized every sentence i wrote ended with a “!” i need to lay off those exclamation marks a little but. lol.

  • i kinda know what you mean, while i was pregnant i became obsessed with all things cutesy! my little guy is only 1 now, and its amazing to see how much i’ve changed in such a short period of time! its all for the better though!

however, i do think these are adorable, with child or not! very different the standard christmas decor!

hope everything is going well for you!
