I know we’re all getting tired of the political song and dance, but here’s one more for you. (See? I’m keeping it light here, people.)
The majority of my readers are American women, like me. Vote, ladies. Our daughters’ daughters will adore us.

Thanks for the ‘song and dance’ and keeping it light, but real! I hope today ends the way you want it, as to our daughters. :)
It’s your blog and all, and you really could have let loose with a whole bunch of “vote MY way!” but you didn’t, and I am one reader that really appreciates this gentle approach. What’s most important is that we all go out and VOTE — thank you for reminding your readership. And for keeping it light! :)
I watched that movie almost weekly as a kid! My favorite!
This made me smile. Well sung.
I love that you posted this clip! Fabulous!
I voted :) for the first time ever. This college student has been waiting since she was 7 to vote and today I cast my ballot.
Amen & Amen.
Although we adore men individually, we agree that as a group…
… they’re rather stu-pid :)
Very cute!!! I love this movie.
Loved it! I’ve so very ready for the election to be over. It can definitely bring out the worst in some people online, ugh. But my 10yo told me yesterday they had a mock-election at school. He cast his vote thinking of me and his two sisters – love that kid!
Thank you for the great reminder! I always think of this song when it comes to voting. :) And a great movie about the suffrage movement is “Iron-Jawed Angels.”
This is the 3rd time I’ve seen this online today. Great minds think alike!
JUST made my husband watch this for the first time last weekend. Ah, childhood!!
And though we adore men individually, we agree that as a group they’re rather stoooopid. (I love this line from that song!)
Thank you I now need to find a copy of that, I don’t think it’s in the arsenal yet. Singing in great full chorus!
I LOVE this song! I sing it (in a British accent) and my daughter marches around the living room while my husband looks at me like I’m crazy (for having this song memorized, not for voting :)!)
Iron Jawed Angels is a great movie. Wasn’t too long ago (my grandmother’s youth) that women weren’t allowed to vote…so girls, go out and vote!
Good for you!!!! I also voted. And I totally agree with you — WHO you vote for is not the point…. the fact that you voted is important! :) BTW, LOVE that clip and love that movie!!!!

love this song. i blinked and i was 8 again marching around, “well done! sister suffragette!”
The other day a male friend was insisting that voting doesn’t matter and I made the point to him that both of my grandmothers were born in the United States BEFORE women had the right to vote. Totally forgot about this song!
Oddly enough I find myself singing or humming this quite often. Great song, great reference.
Love this. My six year old son also really enjoys watching Mary Poppins.
Love this. My six year old son loves watching Mary Poppins too! A true classic.
Love this and love your blog!
Love your blog, don’t comment often but had to. This is an awesome reference! I love that movie and forgot about that song. Thanks for sharing.
Not only American women, there’s one non American too, who’s secretly admiring you from a distance of few thousands miles.
Kisses!
One of my favorite movies! Tho I must confess, the whole suffragette thing always confused me as a kid. I think it blew my mind to imagine that women didn’t always have the right to vote.
