Deer are congregating on the fireplace.
Some garland found its way to the stairs.
(I had a bunch of the fake stuff from IKEA last year. It’s skimpy, so I tripled it up, and it’s still skimpy. Maybe we’ll get fresh greenery next year instead to do these stairs justice.)
And the table is a mini forest.
The Christmas tree got a few welcome additions from the kids.
We have a couple of extra little trees around too, made and decorated by the kids.
Presents are present.
And my fancy blogger tree is looking festive.
Soon the children will be nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of Plants vs. Zombies dance in their heads.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you, and very sad day to that fiddle leaf fig! Poor guy! ;)
(Hi kitty!)Everything looks so pretty. Love the pre-K crafts. They make a house a home, don’t they? Your blogger tree is like a little Charlie Brown tree. I think it just needs someone to believe.
Merry Christmas!

I keep holding out hope for it, that maybe a new leaf will sprout. It’s not looking good though…
Oh my! Where did you find those deer? Locally?
I found them on eBay a few years back.
Nice. I had sold an identical pair to a local home furnishings store this past summer. I was thinking they could have been the same pair, but obviously not. I remember saying to the buyer, “these will be perfect at Christmas!”
What a darling paper tree! Is that like a vintage advent tree?
Love the gift tags also, very clever.
Thanks! That paper tree is new, but it’s billed as a “Victorian advent calendar.” Brandon’s mom gave it to us for the kids, to match the house.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! I just saw these and thought I’d share them with you. You’ve probably already seen them, though! http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/periodic-table-building-blocks
I hadn’t seen those, but they’re great!
Merry Christmas to you & your family.
Glad to see I am not the only one who has trouble w/the Fiddle Leaf Fig. :)
I don’t know what’s going on with that little guy. The big one is still going strong at least!
Merry Christmas to you and yours! I had a fiddle leaf fig on my annual Sissies [+husbands] Secret Santa list, but pretty sure my Santa fell into the GAP and emerged with a gift card instead.
IKEA carries them sometimes now, so maybe you can find one there if you’re nearby? I think it was only $7!
Aw, what happened to the fiddle leaf?
(Thanks for keeping it real!)
My first fiddle leaf is doing great! Taller than me, growing new leaves, and looking fairly healthy. I don’t know what’s going on with that Charlie Brown looking fellow.
Merry Christmas and a very very successful 2014.We are looking forward to the Evolution of your new/old?home. Spring should be interesting-seeing what comes up in your new garden.
Yes! I’m looking forward to seeing the garden in the spring. We didn’t do anything out there because I wasn’t sure what to cut down at the end of the season and what to leave alone. I’m assuming I’ll be able to figure it out based on where new leaves and shoots start coming up from.
Wishing you and your family a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Joy & fun at ;)) Christmas!
More snow for us … wow! We are definitely having a freezing cold, but very white holiday.
Forgot to say …. I really love the sofa. Beautiful shade of blue.
What are the kiddos doing? Maybe …. eating Cheerios and looking at pictures … sweet!
What lovely decorations you have! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Christmas :-)
Best fancy blogger tree ever!
Ooh, I totally have those brass deer ^_^
Happy holidays!
I just laughed out loud at your “blogger tree” comment. That’s about what our looked like when we finally checked it. Hope you’re having a very merry holiday!
*chucked it!
I love your blue couch so much. Hope you guys had a great Christmas!
Hello, I am glad I stumbled upon your blog. Happy New Year to you and your family. I love the fact that your home is always bright in all your pictures. Happy holidays and talk soon
I love those oversize deer. Do they have any markings on them to indicate who makes them?
[…] garland strands years ago. They were pretty thin so I tripled them up and added lights before draping the garland along our stairs, but I wasn’t thrilled with how skimpy it looked. I mean, it wasn’t a big deal — it […]
