Christmas Wreath

Brandon bought a wreath from a boy scout that came to our door last month. Isn’t that sweet? When it arrived though, I could see it needed a little help. It came with a smooshed plastic red bow and two pine cones.

Christmas Wreath (Before)

I ordered a set of vintage silver bells after Laura posted them on the SCOOP, and I figured they would do nicely in the center of the wreath.

Christmas Wreath (After)

I added a silver bow and the two pine cones back in and hung it from a silver ribbon. The whole thing could have used a little more fussing, but I fixed it up and had it hanging within fifteen minutes. I had to work quickly!

Love Eleanor’s little hands grabbing at the wreath. Bet that was why you had to work fast. :)

Soooooo pretty! We do two big lighted wreaths in the peak of our house and garage with huge vintage-y silver bells hung on them, so I totally dig this upgrade! ;)

Very pretty and a HUGE improvement. Bonus that you supported the Boy Scouts at the same time. I am a sucker as well when they come door to door. Bet your house looks gorgeous at Xmas!

Sometimes the sentiment (supporting the boy scouts) is more important than perfection. :)

what a difference a bell (or three) makes! i was just eyeing some of the HUGE oversized ones they have at target this year in red… thinking they’d be fun hanging from the mantle!

What Jessica said! The Eleanor-reaching-for-cat-tail element is the crowning touch!

LOVE it. I’ve been giving some thought to my own wreath, but nothing really inspired has come to me yet. xoxo

Love it! My seven-year old son sold Christmas wreaths for his cub scout den this year too. Although I’m not as crafty as you. Ours is hanging on our front with the red plastic bow and two pine cones. Yours is so so much fancier!

I have a green front door that works great except during Christmas. It’s hard to find a wreath that doesn’t have greenery that melts into the door color. This year I finally found the perfect wreath – red feathers and glitter. woo!

I love homemade wreaths at Christmas time. My family used to have a magnificent grapevine, and we’d collect the branches at the end of the season and fashion them into a circle. They make the perfect backdrop for evergreens, red berries and a shiny jingle bell.

Hi, this is the first time I’ve visited your blog and it’s great! Love what you did with the wreath and that pink tree!! My question is actually about the giraffe teether in the floor. I’ve considered ordering this for my 9 month old but the thought of paying $20 for something we’re sure to lose makes me cringe ;) Do you think it’s worth the money? Does she love it??
