Making it Yours follows one piece of furniture (or in this case, a light) through several different designs. I like to imagine a story behind each new iteration, and here we’re following along with Maxwell. When we last checked in with him, he was living alone again for the first time in a long time, and he had put his energy toward decorating his dining space. Since then, Maxwell has swapped out the dining room light for a lucite and brass chandelier and moved the Together Pendant into his bedroom.
The bedroom was functional with a bed and dresser, but it didn’t reflect Maxwell’s taste. You’ll see the same indigo accents and the same aesthetic — masculine, but with a softness to it, and lots of luxe through the materials and finishes. He likes leather, wood, brass, and organic elements, and you’ll see all of that at play in the upcoming third design too.

Nicole!
Just had to tell you that we are moving and painted my son’s room the color of Eleanor’s room and it looks so awesome…I was petrified but, now I am in love and know he will be more in love.
Thank you for the inspiration!

I’m so happy to hear that you went for it, and that it worked out!

I love that you’re attaching a backstory to your Making It Yours posts. It makes it more fun. I’m rooting for Maxwell.

Ahem, and I forgot the “w” in my name. That wasn’t just gratuitous pretense, I swear.
