    Me Too, Candice Bergen

I wish I knew more about this print. Brandon’s mom gave it to us a few days ago. It belonged to his grandmother, who apparently bought it from a store where it was on display and not actually for sale. A quick search attributed the quote to Candice Bergen, but I don’t know the year or context. It’s a great sentiment though, wouldn’t you agree?

I like houses to be cozy, comfortable and personal. Not cluttered, but filled with interesting objects and toys and as many jokes as I can get away with.

    Art for the Bathroom

One of the benefits of having a green floor is the ability to layout art on it and imagine the arrangement on your similarly toned walls. Trouble figuring out placements for a gallery wall? Just paint your floors to match! Great planning aid!

I kid. Here’s what I’ve got so far though.

I’m going to use a little ledge for the tumbler and bowl, either in white or green. I’m considering adding a clock though too, and then maybe I’d need another little ledge to balance it out. What do you think?

Also, I’m trying to choose a color for the mirror. I had originally planned on yellow, but I nixed all of the yellow accessories for the room, so now the color would probably look out of place. Maybe black? Or the darker green of that little bowl above?

This is amazing. I could see it being equally great over a favorite reading chair or hanging in a kid’s room or nursery.

    Cake Prints

Yay! I have a commissioned painting by Paul Ferney, and it is just lovely. Now I may need to add a cake print to my collection. This one for the kitchen, perhaps?

    The Commission Project

Contacting an artist to have a custom painting created for you is such a cool, grown-up thing to do, right? But it’s also usually an expensive thing to do… except in this case. Paul Ferney has unveiled The Commission Project, and he will be creating a series of 100 5×7 paintings for just $200 each.

The painting above is based on this photo of me standing with a purse that I made. I love the way it turned out. Mr. Ferney is quite the talent, so whether you want a portrait of your grandparent, your baby, or your favorite pair of roller skates, I advise you to get in on this while the getting is good.
