That gorgeous necklace is huge and definitely makes a statement all on its own, and I have a little crush on those cute oxfords, so I put together this month’s style post around those two items. A classically pretty dress and simple tote bag are good foundation pieces for the outfit, and a hammered gold ring compliments the necklace without clashing.

I am in love with this broadway fuschia dress. Gorgeous color, lovely shape, and darling button details. Actually I’d like that dress, and maybe about a dozen more from Shabby Apple — there are so many good ones there!
I have a thing for gold shoes and bracelets covered in baubles. And I’d carry a pretty bag like this truffle bag in lilac with a surprise inside… a little copper piggy!

Oh, April. My last month being pregnant, hooray! One last maternity look before I have to start dressing 24-7 for easy boob access.
I like this maternity shirt dress, and of course it’s easy to find shirt dresses like this one for the majority of you that are not currently pregnant. I often wear simple dresses because when the dress is understated, everything else stands out. For jewelry, I would wear something like this pink and gold pearl bracelet on one side and this lovely ring on the other.
I hadn’t bought a new purse since early last year (I bought the one in my very first style post), so when I fell in love with this yellow ruffled purse I decided to splurge. In fact, in that post I was talking about how I’d rather buy one quality item than five less than stellar cheapies, and I’ve stuck with that!
OK… until I got to the shoes. These little white flats are cheapies, but they’re so cute! And comfortable! And I needed a pair of shoes in a larger size because I can’t very well walk around barefoot in public and none of my other shoes fit at this point. Besides, I don’t think every item needs to be an investment piece – a nice mix of high and low is always nice. Wouldn’t you agree?

Spring is almost here! Maybe that’s why I’m loving bright kelly green these days…
For my fellow pregnant ladies, this maternity smocked shirt dress is pretty cute. And for everyone else? This silk pleated dress is beautiful, but this keyhole dress is really sweet and more casual (though I’d lose the belt).
I love wearing big, bold jewelry. This bracelet can stand on its own, or maybe with some silver earrings that complement it but don’t don’t compete. And I’m a fan of pattern (surprised?), so I’d add a cute fabric bag and then some architectural shoes
to finish off the outfit.

Looks like I’m loving ruffles this month…
I’m not normally a big fan of Steve Madden shoes, but I saw these Impereal T-Strap Ruffled Pumps
in a shop window and was instantly smitten. The Knitted Ruffle Dress from Boden looks like the kind of comfy, warm dress that would be perfect all fall and winter (and would likely fit over my ever-expanding midsection). To counter all of the frilliness in the outfit so far, I think the Monogram Bowler Handbag would be an excellent choice. Simple tights would keep your legs warm, and bright red lipstick would liven things up a bit.
OK, now this is where I have to just gush over Cookoorikoo’s necklaces. I met Shana last year at Design*Sponge’s Biz Ladies event here in Chicago, and I’ve seen her in local shows a whole bunch since then. I already own two of her necklaces, and I just bought the partly sunny yo-yo necklace that’s shown above. BUT, Shana has similar styles available in her shop, and she also does custom orders (so you can get the same colors as mine if you want to).
