This has been an excellent week for Calvin to go through sleep regression! You’d think a baby could get his act together by now, am I right?
Anyway, we’re on the other side of our big photo shoot. The house looked amazing, and I can’t wait to share the details and show everything to you! The photos are for a Christmas issue, so the good stuff will have to wait until it’s out, but here’s the tiniest of sneak peeks.
There was garland everywhere, wreaths in the windows, a fresh tree in the library (complete with tons and tons of wrapped empty boxes beneath), and a cute little tree in the play room. Christmas just seems to come earlier and earlier each year, doesn’t it? Right after Easter, in this case.

April 10, 2015 at 12:36 amThat pillow in the front, with the blue diamond pattern, looks just like the one I bitterly regret not buying from Proud Mary. Salt in the wound.
On another note, I feel you on the sleep deprivation. One of my kids didn’t sleep through the night until she was 6. True story. Congrats on keeping it together and getting through your big photo shoot. Yours is one of the very few blogs I still read, because it is really worth my time. As a mom of 3, you know how precious free time is, so that is a high compliment. Cheers!

April 10, 2015 at 12:50 pmSix! You deserve some sort of award. Or a week of sleeping in and naps whenever you want. But thank you, truly — that is a huge compliment that you give me your time.

April 10, 2015 at 6:58 amSleep regressions are the worst! Sometimes I think they plan them on purpose.
I was so confused when your site loaded and I saw the pic of the Christmas wreath! For a second I thought you were about to say you hadn’t put the decorations up yet, but no, of course you’re ahead of the curve, not behind it. ;)
Also, I have to ditto the comment above–I also read very few blogs but have stuck with this one for years. Can’t wait to see how the photo shoot turned out!

April 10, 2015 at 12:52 pmThank you. And yes, they are frustrating to get through! I had hoped to be available for the shoot during the day and continue working at night, but the baby threw those plans right out.

April 10, 2015 at 8:50 amSleep regression is just how these babies keep their mommma’s on their toes! Can’t get too comfortable or confident in a routine, ya know?
Can’t wait to see the Christmas decor! Your kids must have loved it :)

April 10, 2015 at 12:53 pmJust when you’ve got a routine down… bam!
The kids thought the whole thing was very strange. We went from Easter bunnies to Christmas trees!

April 10, 2015 at 12:43 pmYours is the first blog I read, and I check it every day. My fav!
You still, with an infant, do more than any new mom I know.

April 10, 2015 at 12:58 pmThanks! It kills me when I’m not able to do as much as I want to (I have such grand plans), but it’s getting easier day by day as the little guy grows.

April 10, 2015 at 1:16 pmDid you have to explain to them about empty Christmas gift boxes and why all the hoopla and no loot! I think, as a child, I would have thought that at some point it would have magically become present time. Of course your children seem super smart to me so they probably understood.
