The Pink Christmas Tree is Here

Pink Christmas Tree

I love it.

I do wish the lights were clear, but I can change them eventually. At night, the hot pink lights take the tree from kooky and fun to over-the-top bordello! Also, the 7.5′ version would have been a better height, but it would have been far too wide for the room. We ordered the medium-sized “wooden” tree stand you see in the photo, hoping that it would add some height. We only got a few extra inches from it, but it does look nicer than the wire stand that came with the tree.

I can’t wait to see what the tree looks like when it’s all decked out with ornaments!

I love it! And, thank you. I was not in the Christmas spirit until I wandered upon your fabulous tree picture. It reminded me I have a lovely little silver aluminum one at home to put up.

p.s. For my tree, I added height by sticking the base dowel through a few sturdy shoe boxes and draping them with a piece of dark purple satin.

I love, love, love it. I finally have a total of two Christmas trees in the house this year, and the new tree’s decorations are pink and silver. My husband thought I was crazy, but it looks great. You are the luckiest girl in the world to have a husband that doesn’t mind pink in the house.

I was having sort of a rotten day, but I couldn’t help but grin at this picture. That pink tree is just irresistibly bizarre- such a quirky take on Christmas spirit. Eleanor is going to have the brightest and happiest childhood- what a lucky little gal!

Now, did you put the yellow curtains back up?

  • Renee
    December 4, 2009 at 9:04 pm

    YOU ROCK MY FACE OFF!

A suggestion to get some added height: Put some of the chirstmas decoration boxes under the nice wooden stand and cover them with a (white bed sheet, pink blanket, silver lame from the fabric store… I don’t know how to spell that, but it’s pronounced as though it’s french not as though it’s a bore!, or whatever you have laying around to disguise boxes). Then when it’s time to take it all down, the boxes are still close at hand. Just don’t put the ornament boxes under it, for obvious reasons. My mom did this with her slim trees at their old house when they were short on space, and it was barely noticeable that the tree was elevated above the regular tree stand.

So pretty! My husband would fall over and die at the sight of it, though. His live tree chopping adventures and memories as a kid run far too deep for him to go for this. Like I said before, a small one in my daughter’s room will be so awesome!

P.S. I think it would be stunning with a wool or white faux fur rug/blanket as the tree skirt a la Young House Love.

put it up on a low table / coffee table, for more height (and to keep a little person from pulling it over).

  • Tracey
    December 5, 2009 at 1:51 am

Sooooooo cool! As for added height, we’ve been setting smaller trees on nightstands or similar sturdy furniture pieces. It provides that extra height, looks cool and lets any ornaments that hang at the bottom branches have extra space to “breathe”. har har. Also More room around the base for…..prezzies…yay!

So jealous of the pink tree! Our tree is a whopping 3 feet tall (standing on a 2-foot table makes it 5 feet tall). But we learned a lesson about big trees a few years ago when we adopted our cat…
