And it’s up, but I still have to play around with the strings and attach them to the ceiling.
FYI, the Edison is HUGE. Especially the bulbs.
I wanted to take a picture of Eleanor having a bright idea, but she has not been in a particularly cooperative mood today. You can use your imagination though. It would have been cute.
This light was purchased with Membership Rewards points courtesy of American Express. I am working with them to redo my bedroom.

I can’t wait to see it all finished, it is such a fun light…
Wow! That is perhaps a little too large. Can you change the bulbs out? Or would that throw off the proportions?
Will you use a dimmer??? I think it would be awesome with mood lighting, it is a bedroom after all:)
I bet it’ll look fab when it’s all done! Love the wall color and the striped linens. xoxo
Do you screw the things that hold the strings to the ceiling? I’m curious how you know where you want them until you see them all up together. Is there a way to put them up temporarily to see what looks right?
I think the fixture is really cool. Hopefully it works out..
Holy Moly. How much are replacement bulbs??
Looks great though. And I really like the paint color.
That would have been a cute pic! Trust me, I have a 17 mo old and can relate to “those” days as well. =)
Oh that light will look so fantastic dim in a gray room!! Can’t wait to see it finished!!
Have to ask about the linens… are they super soft? I’m in love with my Macy’s Style & Co 300 thread counts at a GREAT price… softest sheets I’ve ever owned… but have had my eye on those West Elm striped ones and some gray/yellow floral ones they have. Trying to punch up my yellow and gray color scheme that’s going on in the bedroom!
this is one of my favorite chandeliers.. i can’t wait to see your room finished!
Yay!!I’m SO GLAD that you opted for the Edison. It is gorgeous! Can’t wait to see it totally fixed. Beautiful paint colour by the way.
Hillarious about the pic idea, and yeah totally would have been cute!
I’m on the edge of my seat about this fantabulous light fixture. But I’m sort of freaking out. There’s not any pink in that room. Wha happened?!
jbhat
I love that light. I love light in general.
Those bulbs are huge! Do you have to special order replacement ones?
Yikes, it IS big! Does it mention anywhere how often the bulbs need to be replaced? Or how “eco-friendly”/electricity-sucking they are? Really can’t wait to see it up, though… If anyone can make it look good in the bedroom, you can!
There was an article in the NYT on just this subject today:

Sometimes, overscale lighting can be very cool – just not TOO overscale – I’m hoping the fixture will work out for you!
i can’t wait to see – i’ve been debating about this lamp forever!
Thanks for the update on this light but I cannot wait to see the finished product—the suspense is killing me!
Oh wow… I love this lamp so much. Unfortunately, in my tiny little British new-build it’d look absurd – I love how American houses are always so spacious!
I can’t wait to see it in action– it looks amazing.
I’m still convinced it will look nice!
I have loved that light ever since I saw it – I can’t wait too see the final product!
Woah, that is big but I bet it is going to look awesome especially against your dark walls and ceiling. Can’t wait to see it!
Haha, can’t wait to see it in full!
i’m curious about replacement bulbs, too?? i LOVE this fixture, and kind of want it for myself…
This is cool. I can totally see my son swinging from it and playing jungle lord though :)
Hot darn that’s a cool light. Can’t wait to see it in action. Have fun!
Did you paint the ceiling in zinc too?
So looking forward to the final installation. I love the zinc walls!
I can’t wait to see it up.. I have been looking at this one for quite some time, and just can’t seem to make the leap yet…but I have a feeling it will be coming soon:)
Can’t wait to see it finished. I love the edison lights and bulbs. :)
looks cool! love the colour you’ve gone with too, very cocooning. i just painted a wall in my bedroom black and i swear i have slept better since. it just gets lovely and dark and enveloping.
look forward to seeing the light finished. jules : )
I saw this light in a restaurant the other night….so super cute! Great choice!
I have loved that chandelier since the first time I saw it! Great choice.
I have been considering this light for a couple years for my dining room. I can’t wait to see how it looks in your space, then maybe I can convince my husband….
Where did you buy the edison lamp?
Pottery Barn.
Nicole – I finally did it! As soon as I got your email I pulled the trigger (except on eBay vs. PB). Here is my Edison in all its glory. http://www.gohausgo.com/2012/02/edison-installed/
