[...] home is a bit of a mess right now since we’re going through the basement remodel, but we do at least have our pink Christmas tree up. Eleanor is a year and half old now and we [...]

WOW that’s a lot of progress! I’m still amazed at the amount of items you had to carry out of the basement to even get the remodel started!
Thought of you as I’ll be at IKEA in Schaumburg yet again this Saturday morning with my sister in law. We’re getting some surprise items for a family member….and rain or snow, we’ll be at IKEA.
Must be exciting to think about what you’re going to do with the new space!
woah this is so cool! the bones are up! It’s def on it’s way =) Can’t wait to follow along and see the final results! <3
best of luck!

Hooray for progress!!! I just can’t wait to see more…
It looks exhausting!! I hope your pregnancy is going great because it must be draining to have to even look at everything going on.
We finished our basement last summer. What a project! Isn’t it amazing how framing can totally bring the idea to life?! Good luck!

Lookin’ good. Say, what is your ceiling height from concrete to ceiling joists? What will the finished ceiling height be?
About 7′ (6.5′ under the soffits).
I am so envious of that empty basement picture, I am still on the before picture. LONG way to go, but this gives me hope!
Congrats on the progress! But what I really came to ask is: Have you seen this? http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/Pantone.aspx?pg=20821&ca=4&utm_source=coy2011art
Yes! I just wrote about the Pantone colors today.
I love the box that reads ORGANIZE in the first picture! You must be excited to have progressed so far. Aren’t you already working on a very important creative process? ;-)
I know, isn’t that funny? Yep, I’m gathering ideas and playing around with designs.
i love a great transformation…nothing can beat that of an unfinished basement. can’t wait to see the finished product. my only advice is to make sure that the space is well heated. not much fun if you’re freezing down there!
Hey!
Make sure you mark where all the water pipes are running so you don’t damage them when you add trim or do any cutting/nailing in the drywall later on.
I’m so jealous! I’ve got a full basement that I’d love to see finished off some day. But for now, I’ll have to make do with watching your progress!
Nicole! We’re going thru a similar basement reno ourselves! Can’t wait to see how your space progresses. (And a belated congrats on expecting baby #2!)
Did your contractor grind down the floor? Was your floor sloped in places or were you just trying to address the evenness of the new concrete patches?
